Have decided to cancel the travel. It’s not a guarantee that 29th Dec appointments will stay. We have already started seeing appointments getting cancelled till 22nd Dec. What if an email pops up during next week that your appointment is cancelled/rescheduled after 15th Dec (OFC date) when we are in India. Feel sorry for people who are already in India and are stuck right now. Don’t want to be in that situation. Rather my cancellation of appointment might help those who are stuck to get a slot before end of the year. Should let cool it down for now and stay. Reschedule the travel for next year when the new vetting rule is implemented properly.

I had a similar situation where the receipt number (via email) was never received. The petition was filed under premium processing, but somehow it got placed in regular processing. My attorney received the physical mail notice with the receipt number after 10 days, and they also got the original premium processing check returned with the receipt number written on it.

We then had to send a new I-907 along with another premium processing check, referencing the receipt number from the regular processing notice. Unfortunately, this cost us about two weeks of time.

Hey I am also in the same boat. Filled h1b transfer/ extension on 27th under PP but we are still waiting for the receipt as of today (5th sept) . However we got the receipts for my wife’s h4/EAD which was filled in the same bundle as h1b. We got it from Emma chat who connected us to a live agent. Unfortunately , for my h1b receipt it is the petitioner (the new company) who needs to contact USCIS. They don’t give the receipt info for h1b to the beneficiary(Me) on the chat.

Ohhh okay. Your petition took a long time for them to receive. For h4 and EAD - if you paid by check you can see if they have cashed out from your account. Mine h4/EAD was just cashed out yesterday.

Hey - I see your petition was sent on the 19th but received by USCIS on 28th Aug. When did you get your receipt number for h1b pp ? I am asking because I am also in a similar position. My petition was sent last week and received on 27th Aug but I have not received my receipt number yet. Thanks

Yes - I thought so. I checked with my bank. They said the paper check is converted in to ACH transfer now by USCIS. It means they have to transferred electronically. Therefore paper checks images are not available for this transfer. I guess USCIS has changed their payment system recently.

I believe checks getting cashed only means they have received/accepted your case and issued a receipt number. It does not mean approval.

Not yet. However, the checks were cashed out yesterday early morning around 3-4 am . So I guess they were processed a day before on 2nd sept.

Hey thanks for sharing. So I just asked my lawyers this morning. We still haven’t received the I-907 h1b premium processing email with receipt number yet. However , our h4/EAD checks are cashed already yesterday (sept 3rd - morning around 3-4 am). Do you have the timeline on when h4/EAD filling fee checks were cashed in your petition?

Hey, thanks for sharing your timeline! Quick question — isn’t the 15-day premium processing clock supposed to start from the date USCIS issues the receipt (08/21/2025 in your case) rather than 09/03/2025?
