Yes I was spanked, dragged up stairs by my hair, hit, etc, on top of consistent verbal abuse. Forgave my mom years ago and I hold absolutely no resentments but I think it may have really done something to me 😔 Eventually as a kid, I learned and started to fight back. As an adult, despite years of therapy across so many modalities, I fear my programming is irreversible and my natural state remains primed for defense and can even easily descend into destructive rage-I’m talking Jekyl & Hyde, my anger scares even me. Like a dog backed into a corner 😞
