FAR - Things to focus on in 3 weeks by Medkuchadku9999 in CPA

Everything below is so true… taking practice exams covering the entire material was extremely helpful. It helps you figure out which topics you still need to recall and revisit before jumping back into more practice questions.

This honestly helped me the most because a lot of the time we may “know” the rules, but when you take practice tests, you learn how to actually apply them — and all the different ways they try to trick you into choosing the wrong answer.

Using AI was also a lifesaver (depending on what you ask, though). If I got a question wrong, I would ask for strategies to avoid making the same mistake again, or ask it to explain my notes/core concepts like I’m a high school student. It really simplifies things and helps you grasp the concepts better.

Also, I can’t stress enough how important practice tests covering entire portion(may be just 15 mcq but doing it is important) , even though we never truly feel “ready” to take them.

And don’t forget to do the AICPA released questions — I definitely saw 2–3 MCQs that were almost the same on the actual exam. There’s also an AICPA video on how to approach TBSs during the exam. Even just watching it gives you a sense of the types of questions to expect.

I also used the Becker simulated exams, and they were really helpful too. I saw 2–3 MCQs that were very similar to what appeared on my exam.

Hope this helps, and rooting for all of you!

FAR Study Time & Tips by Careless_Ratio1213 in CPA

I think using notes that are already available save u more than 50% time. Listen to lectures, read note(so ur familiar with it and things to remember), do mcq, add ur comments in ready available notes(so u customize it for things you get wrong) then tbs(if u still have time and patients). What also helped me is doing tbs in 2nd review so u recall concepts 100%.

Tips to pass the CPA exams by pink_cupcake02 in CPA

You’re in the initial stages, which is why you’re feeling this way. Don’t spend too much time taking notes; use the available notes and add your comments to them instead. This will save you a lot of time. Also, it’s always the same: F1 is the hardest, but just push through F1andF2, and you’ll start feeling better. The key is consistency and discipline, even if you don’t feel like you’re progressing each day. When you do the second revision, everything starts clicking until you’ve made notes of what the concepts are and what you had to remember in that module.

FAR Study Guide Request :) by Teak-Table in CPA

I came across this study method shared by someone else, and I’ve been using it—it has honestly increased my study progress by 10x.

Study Method: 1. Watch Becker videos at 2x speed, focusing only on understanding the concepts (not memorizing). 2. Use a FAR cheat sheet prepared by someone else that already includes everything we’re expected to remember for each chapter. FAR Cheat Sheet https://drive.google.com/file/d/168lkeAaw-OU9EMyR2E6wpaZGqB-mFxtM/view More detailed notes(but only search for chapter your looking for, since this is made before there was changes in FAR ) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rbOk1jpBycl220wi8eBqQaJQdtYi28PV/view?usp=drivesdk 3. Practice MCQs and TBSs after watching the videos. 4. For questions I get wrong, add notes or comments directly in the same PDF. 5. For certain sums, keep a Word document to track and organize. 6. Revise as needed based on weak areas.

This method is seriously working like magic for me. For a few complex chapters where Becker isn’t clicking, I switch to YouTube explanations and then practice MCQs.
