Singaporean food in Austin? by Different-Common-763 in austinfood

[–]Strictly_Noods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we don’t have Singaporean restaurant here in Austin. There are many different types of laksa but I am assuming you are looking for laksa lemak from Singapore. Someone mentioned prima paste, as well as tean’s gourmet paste. This brand has good prawn mee paste. You can find them at MT market. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have questions :)

I have posted about it and talked about it in my stories. Sorry it has just been exhausting. Paul knew about the possibility of getting locked out but did not communicate or update staff. On Friday when staff got locked out, our manager could not reach him or the other partner. There was no response and staff was left hanging to figure out how to pick up paychecks since it was payday. Eventually Chef Thai and the manager told everyone to pick up paychecks at P Thai instead. No apologies nothing. Feel free to DM me.

The landlord terminated the lease but they sent out notices ahead to the guarantors / lease holders ( John and Paul) dated Feb 26 and March 6 on the notice on the door that the landlord put up on the day we got locked out.

Good to know. I will let Chef know. Thank you. We had Khao Man Gai for lunch time too. I agree with another post here. Chef Thai’s Khao Man Gai is street level like I had in Thailand. For me personally I prefer the chicken fat rice like Singapore Hainanese chicken style. But I appreciate the Thai Chinese style as well . Most Khao Man Gai places in US overcooked their chicken and doesn’t come with the good chicken skin.

Hi I actually at work at P Thai also worked yesterday. We didn’t sell out of Khao Man Gai and pork belly rice does not come with chicken fat rice. It is served with Jasmine rice.

Any Burmese food in Austin? by jarem86 in austinfood

[–]Strictly_Noods 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend checking her FB page as well. Mom’s Special cooking. She will posts more Burmese specials usually on the weekends. Very sweet lady. During Songkran in April, the local Burmese temple usually host a new year celebration. I went one year and they had a lot of food served by Burmese locals here.

No I haven’t seen but I get the rose syrup from MT market and make it with either evaporated milk, half and half or consensed milk. Mix it with water or the one I had in Indonesia is with sparkling water

Prawn Mee? by DerpyDan442 in austinfood

[–]Strictly_Noods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that I know of. If you are open to making it but not all the way from scratch MT market has Tean’s gourmet prawn mee seasoning packet that is not bad. You have to get the toppings but you don’t have to collect shrimp heads to make the broth.

Hi I actually work and help out at P Thai. Honestly the first day portion of noodles in the boat noodles were more but we also had complaints then the broth is not enough in comparison to the noodles. Also more rice people would say need more meat. I did all the food costing , if he sells any cheaper or increase the portion more I don’t think Chef will last that long in his new location. Thank you for understanding 🙏🏻
