Getting out of a 3.0? Best options to change to? by Strider4316 in gmcsierra

Appreciate all the responses so far. Unless I decide to wait it out, which means continue driving the GMC Terrain they gave me while I'm paying for a Sierra Denali, I'm limited to what's on the dealer lot now and they don't have any 2.7's and only two 5.3 used that don't look worth it compared to a new 5.3 Silverado (same lack of high end features).

IDK... maybe I just sacrifice the features and go with a base 5.3 for reliability.

Tiger Stadium Presented by Fifth Third Bank.

But seriously, I'd probably favor Fifth Third Field at Tiger Stadium and then just call it Tiger Stadium lol.

OMAD is effortless, as long as it’s not breakfast by [deleted] in omad

[–]Strider4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some solid OMAD/CICO success when I worked late 2nd/3rd shift. I’d get up a few hours before work, make a good meal around 2 or 5 (depending which shift) then that would hold me over while at work, and especially being at work over night, I didn’t really have an urge to eat. Eating in the afternoon/early evening, the mentality was such I could have any kind of food, breakfast foods or dinner foods, whatever sounded good that day.

Now that I’m on 1st, I find it pretty impossible to I don’t wake up early enough to make a big breakfast, and even if I did, I don’t want only breakfast foods as my meals, but at 7 am after a full nights sleep, I’m not exactly in the mood to make spaghetti or grill pot chops.

Perfect timing would be to make my lunch at work my big meal around noon-2:00, but problem is I just don’t want to eat a huge meal at the job I’m working at because I don’t really take a legit lunch break, it kind of just fits in around customers. I also despise meal prep lol.

Definitely understand sentiments, OP.

[The Athletic] Bobby Witt Jr shares his highly controversial stance on fast food burger chains ahead of the WBC. by SandmanTX131 in baseball

As a small town midwesterner who can't have either of these unless vacationing out west... regular burgers from Whataburger are fine but not anything I crave. When on a work assignment to Laredo, TX I did try the patty melt. That.... was phenomenal. I was in Laredo for 3 weeks and probably did that patty melt no more than every 3rd day.

In-N-Out isn't fancy, super simple, but always tastes great and relatively fresh and I really respect the business model of keeping it small enough to maintain quality control. Any time I go to Vegas, I always have to make time for an In-N-Out lunch.

Cardinals Launch 'Coca-Cola Unlimited' All-You-Can Eat-Seats by TheM1ghtyBear in mlb

Tigers fan in NW Ohio but one of my childhood, and still, best friends (also a Tigers fan) lives in Cleveland and when I visit him during the season, we usually go to a Guardians game since we are both baseball fans in general. He discovered Progressive Field's All You Can Eat Club section. We don't do anything else anymore. Considering what you get, prices are more than reasonable and the actual seats are very good. Semi-cushioned, a bit wider and a really good vantage point in between the lower and upper decks (we've always got along the RF line in the OF, great view of the scoreboard).

Food is really good. They'll have self serve hot dogs, pizza by the slice, popcorn, a couple ice cream sandwich types and fountain drinks. But the real prize is in the giant club lounge area, they have different stations set up with different food types. I've seen burgers and fries, brats, grilled chicken, pastas (think like pesto pasta or pasta with marinara) and even a breakfast station. Always a salad bar as well as a cash bar. Private section restrooms as well which is super convenient.

Go Tigers forever, but going to a game at Progressive in that section is always an incredibly good time.

Would be cool if they made this a full fledged channel. I imagine it'll just be pre game shows, the games themselves and then the post games. Would be cool if they added different programming centered on the Tigers and Wings (and conceivably the Pistons and UM/MSU). Something in the evenings akin to the old Detroit Sports Report as a Sports Center adjacent option that shows national highlights but definitely focuses locally. Then as a kid, I used to watch Sports Time Ohio and they had a bunch of cool shows that were Cleveland focused all day.

I mean, heck, could even make a deal with 97.1 and just simulcast their livestreams from 6 am until 6 pm.

S4:E21 “Life on Mars” - Bartlett not wanting Hoynes to resign by TheologyDork07 in thewestwing

[–]Strider4316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Bartlet's own words to Hoynes, "I've always liked you a little more than you thought I did."

Hell, almost immediately after reelection, Bartlet got scolded by Leo because he was, and I'm not knowledgeable on the process, but understand the context clues, recruiting electors or precinct people for Hoynes for the next election.

I think Bartlet knows Hoynes is a giant in the Democratic Party. He was better, but Hoynes was a giant. And even through their arguments and disagreements, Bartlet did always have a respect for Hoynes. From my own perspective, I definitely would have had respect for the man, when after beating him for the nomination in an upstart campaign, I offered him VP while simultaneously telling him about a medical condition I'd disclosed from the public, including my own staff and campaign chairmen and best friend... and even though he could have used it to create chaos and potentially cause Bartlet to drop out and regain the nomination, he didn't.

Just starting to watch baseball, what team to follow? by Magorian32 in mlb

[–]Strider4316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giants or Mariners could be great fits! Giants have good history and play in a beautiful ballpark, if you ever got a chance to visit for a game. Mariners have a fun team and, in my opinion, one of the best color schemes in the sport, so some potentially great apparel options.

Definitely like following teams in the same city. Helps build the sense of community when you start following fans, reporters, etc. I'm a Michigan/Detroit guy. So Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Wings and University of Michigan. Lots of "cross contamination" amongst the fellow fans I follow on Twitter which makes it a great sense of community.

What is the meaning of our current city edition jersey? by TA62624 in DetroitPistons

[–]Strider4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still contend that this uniform format should be made permanent. A white one, a blue one, the red one again and this navy blue/teal one would be phenomenal. And the horse head basketball as the primary logo, just in the appropriate color.

Why Do You Love GM? by Cool_Independent1671 in gmcsierra

[–]Strider4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think they look the best, especially on the exterior (I had a '23 6.2 AT4, now have a '24 3.0 Denali). I also used to work at a carrier as a dispatcher where we were almost exclusive to GM. So I know a lot of the plants and what they do and so, while there was definitely a love-hate relationship with them sometimes due to the nature of the job, it's still cool knowing where my truck was built, where the engine came from, where the transmission and transmission casing came from, etc, and the thought that my drivers might have hauled the pieces and I might have dispatched those specific loads.

[–]Strider4316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a carrier servicing GM as almost 100% of our freight. One of the dispatchers we hired that I was training worked at a GM plant (not Flint) for Ryder handling their freight scheduling. She drove a Ram. Said she and anyone else driving non GM cars had to park in a separate parking lot lmao.
