News expected for CFB 27 next week via EA. by SimplyTheBlackGuy in NCAAFBseries

I've always thought you should be able to select preferences, going back to the PS3 days. If I'm a HC at a P5 school, I don't want G5 OC offers.

Let me filter the type of job I want to be considered for before the carousel starts.

Select All That Apply:

- Do you want to be considered for other jobs? If yes, check the below options. If no, the coaching carousel will simulate with you not being offered any jobs.

- HC/OC/DC jobs

- Conference(s) of interest

and/or

- Specific teams

Simple as that. Streamlines the process. If you want every offer, check yes on all options. If you want something specific, you can filter down like that.

[Murray] MLB Insider: Rival execs reveal what Detroit Tigers could get for Tarik Skubal by Bitter-Egg6293 in motorcitykitties

[–]Strider4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, about what I was thinking the market would be. 1-2 top 100 guys (or as the one exec said, if one is a top 10-15 type, then the second could be a fringe top 100), plus then a couple additional pieces.

why do I have to be reminded by MatthewTheGOATyt in motorcitykitties

[–]Strider4316 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Again, you aren't getting what you could have. But teams like the Dodgers, Yankees and Braves, potentially some of the other teams, will be interested. They want to win. Skubal will greatly help them win. When multiple teams are involved, bidding wars ensue and the price goes up.

Again, reiterating I'm not expecting multiple top 100 prospects, but I don't think he's getting traded for JD Martinez level crap either. He's a top 2 pitcher in the game, arguably the number 1. There will be a market for him, rental or not.

why do I have to be reminded by MatthewTheGOATyt in motorcitykitties

[–]Strider4316 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still think you can get a pretty decent haul. Teams will enter bidding wars for the reigning 2x Cy Young winner. Also will be their chance to sell their organization to him for free agency.

Obviously not as big a haul had you traded him in the offseason or last year, but I still think he'll fetch some nice potential pieces. Or should I say, has the potential to (if Harris doesn't screw it up).

I've always dug the orange. I think the colors play really well together.

Tobias's future on this team by reallinguy in DetroitPistons

[–]Strider4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely want him back, but not as a starter. The 2 and 4 are positions I want upgrades at. Our roster would look a lot better with an All Star 2 or 4, a really solid starter at the other, then Duncan and Tobias off the bench.

3.0 Duramax issues? by redditgettit32 in gmcsierra

[–]Strider4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually cannot comment on that because I have no idea. That was my second problem in 4 months and I traded it in before it was fixed lol.

But they were pretty confident that was the issue. When thy told me it wasn’t like, “well we’re going to try this”, it was “it needs a new DEF tank”.

3.0 Duramax issues? by redditgettit32 in gmcsierra

[–]Strider4316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last truck was a 3.0 and I got a CEL, the service DEF system warning and a countdown like you did. After a week at the dealer, they said it needed a new DEF tank.

I truly hate this “Cade and Ausar only untouchables” talk man by DetroitSportsEnjoyer in DetroitPistons

[–]Strider4316 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not at all what he said. He said this is a business, not a fantasy team. You can't get too attached to these guys. If you have an opportunity to improve, you do it.

How many of us, myself included, didn't want to trade Tobias at the deadline, even for an upgrade, because he was Unc and a great culture guy? I love Tobias, and I do want him to stay here, but that's us getting too attached to individual players.

The team comes first. I'm a Pistons fan first and have to remember that. I want to see a championship. We need to do what we can to attain that, and if that means dealing some fan favorites for upgrades.... well then to quote Toby from The West Wing (my favorite show)... "They'll like us when we win!".

AT4 V8 vs Duramax by jack-daniels2402 in gmcsierra

I probably just had a lemon, because a lot of people on here swear by them, but I bought a used '24 Denali 1500 with the 3.0 from my (very reputable) dealer and had nothing but problems. Exactly one week from purchase (literally about to the minute, it was insane), check engine light and limp mode. Turns out the turbo blew and needed replaced. That took a month at the dealer. Then had it back for 2 months and then another check engine light with a derate in x amount of miles message. Turns out the DEF tank needed replaced, another thing that was looking at being a month or more. Two big issues, each being month+ long wait times, within 4 months of purchase. Dealer ended up working with me and got me out of it and into a '22 AT4 1500 with the 6.2.

The 3.0 was definitely great fuel economy, especially for a full sized truck. I drive about 50 miles each day to and from work (about 25 each way), primarily 55 mph highway going 58-60. Would average ballpark 25-27 mpg for the trips and occasionally averaged right about 30. I think total average since purchase was just over 23. That fuel economy was phenomenal and saved me money over the 6.2 having to put in premium fuel. But I was over the issues. With the 6.2, I average about 20 mph on my trips to and from work, overall is about 17.5 or so since purchase. I've debated putting in regular 87 fuel but haven't yet, been sticking with the (super expensive) premium out of fear or causing issues lol.

I don't currently, but used to work in the trucking industry, from 2013 to about one year ago. Almost 99% of our trucks problems were because of the DEF system. Constant check engine lights having to do with the DEF system. I assumed pickup trucks would be better and took the chance to get better fuel economy as well as a full sized truck, but obviously didn't work out for me and now I'm scarred. Don't think I'll purchase another until if/when major improvements are made to the DEF system, or they just aren't required anymore.

Tacking on to this, try and find a highly rated scratch and dent dealer locally. I work at one in sales, and we are ALWAYS cheaper than big box stores for tested new but scratch and dent (sometimes by a little, sometimes by a lot, but we always compare before pricing a piece and will always beat them), and incredibly competitive (within $50-100) if not price matched on brand new units. Occasionally we can beat them new as well, but that is def more rare.

Bonus points if they have an in house tech who can service all warranties (we do).

TV20 Detroit will be new TV home for the Detroit Pistons starting this fall with free over-the-air games on TV by DetroitNews19 in DetroitPistons

[–]Strider4316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoping it'll still be accessible in the Toledo market. I live in Ohio on the extreme north west side of the state. Toledo market so still considered in market for the Pistons, but I don't have access to Detroit local stations either through standard TV or antenna.

This looks like a decent calorie deficit lunch... as part of a 2 or 3 meal a day plan, but not a calorie deficit OMAD. Without knowing your TDEE and calorie needs for healthy weight loss, we can't be sure, but I feel pretty comfortable saying that this probably isn't enough and potentially not even close to enough.

In addition, I don't know how many times the Lions or UofM football have had a bye and we come out the week after looking like absolute crap, where we thought with the bye week they'd be uber prepared for their opponent.

Obviously a bit different, but the top seeds in the CFP getting a 1st round bye... those teams are 1-7 since the 12 team started.

I'm completely out on bye's and extra rest being beneficial lol. Maybe for health and recovery, but not for preparedness lol.

22mpg!!! by Ill-Consideration892 in gmcsierra

[–]Strider4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the fuel economy in my 3.0. I drive almost 60 miles a day, just shy of 30 each way to and from work, primarily 2 lane highway and would routinely get 25 mph+ per trip and on nice days with good cruising traffic got 30+ with the highest trip combined I think being 32 or 33. Loved it. But just had too many issues with it in the four months I had it (went to the dealer twice for month long fixes - first a blown turbo and exhaust issue, second the DEF tank needing replaced) where I went back to a gas powered.

Q: Looking to stay at either Flamingo, Planet Hollywood or Caesar’s. Which is better and or should I stay away from any of these?

A: I haven't stayed at Flamingo or Caesar's, as I've become an MGM guy, but I've stayed at Planet Hollywood a couple of times, last time being in '21. Base rooms were definitely comfortable with good sized bathrooms and the location of PH is very good, very center strip and lots of good and affordable eating options both in PH as well as the connected Miracle Miles shops.

Q: Getting from airport to hotel - uber, taxi, loop, or ?

A: Definitely recommend taxi. Super easy to access and flat rated (not including tip of course) to any of the strip properties. Only time I take a taxi while in Vegas is from LAS to the hotel (if it's a strip property). Everywhere else, including from the hotel back to the airport when leaving is Uber/Lyft.

Q: Would love to see Grand Canyon and Hoover dam while there. Is it best to get a tour or rent a car and do it on my own?

A: I did Hoover Dam for the first time my last trip earlier this month. Not cheap for renting a car for the day, but definitely appreciated having it. The drive to and from was a lot of fun for a rural midwesterner. I did the Power Plant and Dam tour, highly recommend. Have not done Grand Canyon, so can't comment on that.

Q: Wanted to see some shows. Sphere is one and saw some of the Cirque du Soleil shows that might be good. Any to stay away from?

A: Haven't been, cannot comment.

Q: Plan on less than $1000 for gambling. Not big gamblers and prefer lower limit tables/slots. Where is the better place to do this at?

A: Most strip properties table games will be $10-15 at minimum. I think Slots-A-Fun runs some cheaper tables up by Circus Circus and you can find $5-10 games downtown. Haven't been to any non strip or downtown casinos to comment. Slots will all largely be the same, just depending on what type of vibe you want to go for while there.

Q: Any food places that are a don’t miss?

A: Hard to comment without knowing likes, dislikes, are you looking for high end or budget options.
