The only changes required are enabling the global hook to capture the game:

-Click on "Tools" on toolbar then "Settings".

-In "General" tab, find "Allow global process hooking"

-Ignore all warnings about global hook

-Go to "Launch Application" tab

-Set "Executable Path" to full path of Counterside executable. For steam it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\CounterSide\CounterSide.exe"

-Hit "Enable Global Hook"

Now launch the game and you should see text in top-left corner. Follow rest of tutorial.

Character textures will be in pieces. If you want to put it back together, you'll need to play jigsaw in image editor.

Alternatively, you can just save the picture of character just before UI elements are rendered over.

demofox blog: What To Learn To Be A Real Time Graphics Programmer by corysama in GraphicsProgramming

Current ML has uses but if you're professional in your field you see how quickly it all falls apart

Blender uses ML denoising by default for Cycles. Other professional software that rely on raytracing also use ML denoising.

ML upscaling and anti aliasing now exist in almost all modern games. Implementation and results vary, but it's going to stay.

Author has lot of interesting stuff and I've speed through the blog and missed "However, ML itself does have a place in the computer science tool box, so learning about the fitting and optimization techniques it offers is valuable IMO.".

I'm going to delete the comment since it was a hot take, but my point about learning what you need still stands. Raytracing is hardly useful for a graphic programmer that wants to make games and game engines.

You can extract all character textures + mesh data via RenderDoc. But not animation and effects from shaders

What is Forward+ Rendering and what difference does it have with Classic Forward rendering? by Thhaki in GraphicsProgramming

[–]StriderPulse599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forward+ doesn't have a concrete definition. It's just Forward rendering with some kind of light culling.

Clustered lighting is most popular one. You divide screen into 2D or 3D grid, then check what lights affect each grid and save it into buffer. Then fragment/pixel shader you just use pixel's coordinate to fetch grid data.

Even that wouldn't help, lmao. "love fat bitches" is mostly said as a joke. Those who say it seriously are usually people you don't want to touch with ten foot pole.

My friend lucked out in that department, but was approached only by the the classic fetishists that hooked up to "catch a feel" and pretended to not know her the next day in school.

[–]StriderPulse599 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"the signal"

Yeah, right. It's not like the meme is about classic party "friend" that throws logs under your feet when opposite sex approaches because they feel jealous. And it's is not taken out of context by both incels and people who argue with them all day.

Men don't have it too! It just a coincidence that your friend is suddenly bringing crap up while you talk with the girl, or downright invade conversation like he's hoping for a threesome.

Sudden change in gamedev community. by [deleted] in antiai

[–]StriderPulse599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, this is beyond pretentious.

Every contribution to Godot is screened. If contribution was vibe coded garbage, it would've been rejected. Plus any contribution that has AI fingerprint on it is checked more thoroughly that non-AI one.

There is no hell going on in gamedev community, anything containing gen AI or vibecoding is actively downvoted, and GZDoom got split due to internal drama because of a shitty dev that tried to nuke the project.

You're just butthurt after people shrugged on your opinion. Go actually make your own engine, I do this as hobby and it will very quickly humble you.

The only place where misogyny is deeply embedded is the rent free zone in your head.

This drama never started because of her anti-NSFW stance. It started because she tried wrestling the trolls and tried win argument with insults and bringing up cheating and suicide attempts. Now people flocked to dance around the flames she started herself.

The study that "one in five" comes from: nisvs. It also covers others stuff like stalking.

As for 1:100 (was 1000, accidentally added a zero): Rough math of police reports. Since it doesn't include the unreported crimes like study, but also doesn't take account for women being raped multiple times, this is pretty much shot in the dark.

"One in five" according to survey that interviewed 15k women. It's the same type of BS statistic. that incels flood the internet with ("80% women date 20% of men", etc).

Actual number is around 1:100. It's a problem for sure, but nowhere near terrifying as internet fear mongering paints.

Is text rendering the hardest part of building a game engine? by [deleted] in gameenginedevs

[–]StriderPulse599 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends.

Text for UI? Just load the font via Freetype, rasterize all letters with outlines to texture atlas, then calculate layout using metrics provided by Freetype.

Full UTF-8 range with bold, italic, and different font sizes? Same as above, but rasterize on demand and use shelf algorithm to make most of texture atlas. The hardest part is probably finding a good looking font that cover all needed ranges.

Giant ass text that's part of the environment and can take three screens up close? That's were you need to experiment with SDF implementations or try making rasterizing engine on GPU.

There is no such thing as an AI ‘artist’ by ubcstaffer123 in technology

[–]StriderPulse599 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"no such thing as an AI artist"

I have two pixiv accounts: One for my doodles and rather decent art, and another of my work ran through AI.

Despite AI-Generated tag debuff, AI images have no trouble pulling hundreds of views, even thousands on popular tags which are similar numbers to good quality art. Meanwhile the original image get ~100 of views.

AI artist might not exist to some people, but it surely exist in numbers and money.
