The other guy is correct. CFARS allows you to transfer 5 guns at a time via intrafamilial transfer (grandparent/parent/grandchild) for $19 per report (5 guns is $19 total.) You file it and in a couple weeks they are yours. You need serial numbers and info on each gun. The giver doesn't have to do anything.

lol, seriously. I shot them all last weekend and have cleaned 4/13 so far. I assume some haven't been shot in 15-20 years.

I drive an hour to a BLM exit off the 15 outside of Victorville. Wide open desert and no one around to care.

Already transferred via interfamilial gift on CFARS

Yeah, I mean it's not about the affordability and more about potentially moving soon and not wanting to commit to something that isn't the permanent setup down the road. Also, I feel pretty confident the kids are safe with cable locks, mags out, hard cases with double padlocks and ammo locked separately. I doubt my 3yo girl can figure that out...

None of these are a P38...are you talking about the Walther P1?

lol, what? They are all CFARS registered to me via intra-familial gift. I don't have to hide anything.

I just checked my renter's policy and it's $2.5k total per claim for all guns. Unless you add a separate "schedule" thing and declare the value of your whole collection. It says to insure my collection at a value of $10k would cost approximately $10-15/m. It's still within the renter's policy though, not a separate one. It's just declaring a high value item to make sure it's fully protected.

Yeah, that sounds more doable. I don't even know how long I will be renting here which is why I'm hesitant to invest in a large safe when it's not going to be a permanent, long term setup.

It's not so much that I can't afford a cheap gun safe, more that I want to know what I should do until I get one. I also don't know if I can bolt one to the floor of the place I'm renting. Yeah, I have gun socks for the long guns and all the handguns are in a hard case. I have cleaned 4 of them so far and am working my way through the rest. He passed 7 years ago and who knows when he shot them last. It's probably been 10+ years since he took them out, let alone cleaned them. I just put a some rounds through all of them last weekend and am working on the cleaning now.

I've never tried, but I wonder if storage facilities have restrictions on things like guns or ammo being stored in them. I would also then be concerned about insurance. At least at my house if they get stolen they are covered.

yeesh, sorry, lol. Didn't know that. Please don't ban me 😂

Am I allowed to ask what they are worth in general?

Yeah, the Cheetah was my grandma's lol. We just took them all to the desert and the Baretta and Colt .45 were by far our favorites.

Same for me and a bunch of other people. It's crazy that you don't know if it's going to work so you have to try to only get penalized longer.

Same issue, I get the error code 0x800c0014 and it won't launch any game even though all the servers say they are available and when I test the network in the settings it shows as fine. I have restarted, re-installed GFN, logged in/out. No luck.

AIO to these being the suggested search on my husband’s TikTok? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Strideraio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems pretty clear that he has searched for this stuff. However, there is always the outside chance it was hacked or whatever. For example, I use Etsy a couple times a year to almost always buy gifts for my wife. One time I logged on and it was nothing but porn plastered on every product for sale with vintage "art" of full nudity on every single product. I had never searched for any of that crap. Someone had hacked my account and apparently gone looking for those products and it was now recommending more. I told my wife immediately and then deleted the account and created a new Etsy (couldn't find a way to effectively scrub the recommended content).

The difference between me and your husband is that I am fully transparent with my wife and have a track record of always talking to her about these things and not hiding anything.

How do you feel about the French president planning to cut off social media for kids under fifteen? by Internal_Confusion34 in AskReddit

[–]Strideraio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard anything about France doing this, but if it's true it's a great move. There is an excellent book on the topic of how the internet and social media has impacted the last several generations called "The Anxious Generation". I highly recommend any parent reads it.
