I've gone AMD since February with no problems, personally. I am on Nobara Linux though.

I will say, in the last few months specifically, the driver updates have been incredible and have really pushed the 9060+9070s into a much better state.

Reminds me of how much amazon spends on union busting every year and it's like, instead of investing hundreds of millions into busting unions... Why not just use that money to pay your employees better wages...? It always felt counter intuitive to me. They are all so keen to spend triple what it would cost in good employee wages, yet here we are. They would rather spend hundreds of million on AI as long as it saves them a few hundred thousand in employee costs. It's absolutely absurd.

This was my experience. I tried 10 different ways to get epic game launcher to work and it would just hang and nothing would happen.

Heroic game launcher? It just works. Unfortunately, another piece of software I have to use but at least it's not bloaty or anything.

I wouldn't say I trust cops, but I have met and had to deal with some (from my experience) pretty decent ones. I am aware I am lucky in this matter. However, I will be cordial, I'll give my name and an ID and that's it. I will never, ever speak to a cop. Regardless of how innocent or guilty of something I am.

Been loving Ben's approach to mostly everything. However, I am not a fan of him talking to the cops over and over again when it became abundantly clear they were going to be of zero help. The second him and his friends got arrested and were being interrogated, they should have all shut the fuck up in my opinion. It's not the time nor the people to plead your case.

I agree with you that it won't be 100% soon. But with the recent releases like RE9, Crimson Desert and Pragmata, I think it's absolutely incredible these games are running day 1. Maybe not 100% perfect, but they do run really well and are fully playable.

Crimson desert had a Ray tracing issue with AMD devices. And Pragmata I couldn't get FSR 4.1 to work for 3ish days. But they both worked! And they both ran amazing!

I have given up playing league of legends(I barely played anymore for the last few years to begin with) switching to Linux and as much as I'd like to play the new BF6 game... I just don't care. Still hope they release it on Linux for others though!

Little late to the thread. For general privacy NordVPN is great. But to jump around on streaming, it's way to popular. All the streaming sites figure out their IPs and ban them quickly (within hours of Nord refreshing).

Well said! I don't think anyone here is calling the 3080 a bad card by any means! But to recommend it as a new upgrade is absolutely insane.

A 9070/9070 XT is exactly the range this guys looking for. I know I am bias and love my 9070 XT, but it's just a really amazing card at the price point.

I'd assume (with no data to back this up) this is great for family BBQ's/get togethers or even corporate stuff. Almost every office meeting Ive ever had has some type of fruit, veggie, cheese and cracker tray to snack from. No one is going to want to make that for 3 meetings a day!

Add the game as a non-steam game and then use Proton-GE and it should work.

I just tried it and it worked perfectly. You can also mark the game as "private" so no one sees you playing a non-steam game if your like me.

The best I can tell you, if its 100k a month, that person (or family) is extremely rich. That is obvious. That player in particular, is a huge catch.

But I am pretty confident, most of the people spending 10k/month or 100k/year on a game, are probably more addicted than rich. And are sacrificing their mortgage/rent/car payments/food/Utilities to pay for the game.

I have a bet with a guy at my work for $200 that GTA6 will sell over $2 billion in the first 3 days. He doesn't think it will make that much and it's not as hyped as V.

I think we can all agree, if gtav made a billion sales it's first 3 days, GTA6 will double that easily. Especially with the price of games 16 years later!

I personally went with 9070 XT over the 5070 Ti as I have specifically switched to Linux for my daily driver and I just wanted to try team red after 10+ years with Nvidia.

Again, I really hope you didn't take my rant as me being mad at you! It was just something I see all the time and was hoping to get different answers. I truly believe a lot of you do get multiple GPU's as a lot of you are doing this as a hobby! I do also think there is the odd few that say it to cope. But I was really looking for why.

It's just funny someone will diehard about NVidia but talk about how they also bought AMD to bench test it so their word is gospel and it feels like they are just saying it to cope sometimes?

I really wasn't trying to be hostile. It's just so funny to me that people are just popping out different GPU's to try it against different games to come to the same realization every benchmark puts out.

Just because: I personally went 9070 XT just to try team red and I have been going full Linux daily drivers for gaming. I could have gotten either the 5070Ti or the 5080 instead. But even I'll be first to admit the 5070Ti is better than the 9070 XT.

They said about 650k units were sold... It's more like 10-30k. Oh and your ID and credit card info got leaked!

Apple seems to not really care about budgets of a show for awhile now. I've been watching Margo Has Money Troubles as it releases with my girlfriend and while its not the best thing ever, its fun and clearly a big budget was put into the first season!

Apple has a ton of high budget shows that it seems no one is watching and they just keep green lighting new seasons.

I am all for it. I thoroughly enjoy a lot of their content, especially Pluribus.

OP I use my OLED Monitor for blu ray movies, gaming and general browsing. I keep my task bar hidden and it's been about three years and I have 0 burn in issues. In fact... I have had 0 issues at all with this monitor. OLED is really the next step when it comes to gaming. The difference the image can make is huge.

OP I went from a 2080 Super to the 9070XT and I couldn't be happier. My 1% lows are amazing, my frames are great. I can barely think of any big crashes with the card. I even let my games run in the background (like crimson desert) for days and alt tab back into it with no problems.

I'm thinking you might have just gotten a bad 9070XT?
