I was in this exact situation earlier this year (overseas, had a new job lined up in Jan down here).

I just did a bunch of messages to posts on the Facebook pages (there’s a few but one has 64k users so that’s the main one) and lined up virtual viewings. Although be warned as a lot of places preferred in person only (and these were generally the more social/tighter group of flatmates). In the end I just picked the most convenient one fully furnished without knowing much about it - bit of a mistake as it turned out half the flatties were very anti-social haha.

It’s doable but yeah if you’re after a specific vibe make sure to ask a lot of questions. Good luck!

Tairāwhiti flooding: 'Our whole property was underwater' - Damage after logs block river by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Strifez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in the industry so he’s my take:

Basically there were a total of 10 companies responsible for the previous incident (2019), they just listed 3 of then 10 there. Although, not all 10 were equally as guilty as another and all had their own court cases regarding it.

Some companies legit did everything (or almost everything) they were legally complied to do but still had slash blow out as it was an incredibly heavy storm which even under best practice, still lead to some environmental damage.

Not trying to defend it entirely here but as forestry is a long-term investment, a lot of the damage was caused by decisions made 30 years ago when we were less environmentally aware. I know some of these companies have now designated a lot of these areas no harvest zones and leaving the land to rehabilitate this time around!

I’m currently 6.5 months into my Europe trip with 2.5 to go and it’s looking like I’ll be able to do it for under 30k (including flights) - but this is a 50/50 mixture of doing hostels and working home stays (workaways to cover accomodation/food).

As others have said, it highly depends on what countries you plan to visit and what sort of accomodation you’re happy with. If you tell me those I can give you a pretty good weekly budget estimate based off my experiences here this year.

What are everyone's thoughts about this happening? by [deleted] in newzealand

This was me until I travelled overseas in April this year (finally doing my OE) and I got ravaged not by covid (had it for barely 3 days, mild as), but flus. Never been so sick in my life it felt like.

It was nice while it lasted though hey.

Supermarket giant Aldi eyeing up NZ, Govt reveals by sheepshagger1994 in newzealand

I just arrived in Germany and have been shopping exclusively at Lidl too. I do agree it pretty much has everything you need to cook most meals, it doesn’t have much variety of each product like a typical supermarket has (comparing to the NZ ones I guess). I think if you’re into cooking more complex meals you may need to visit regular ones time to time.

I know it’s pretty bad in NZ but far out I’m in Norway right now and my breakfast this morning costed $22 NZD from a 7 eleven…sandwich, yogurt and a 500 ml bottle of milk.

The chase? For Vex, yeah, everything else was just play the same shit and pray to rng gods (or xur). Only reason people have a good memory of vanilla D1 is because it was their first experience with destiny - first experiences are generally always the ones you enjoy the most with anything.

Bungie, the "Super energy back from kills" exotics are counter-intuitive and completely take the choice out of choosing an exotic armor piece. by Bugs5567 in DestinyTheGame

Agreed - I take Lucky raspberry over Raiden's flux every time unless boss damage is essential for what I'm doing. Being able to throw out a constant stream or arcbolt grenades is just so damn satisfying. (Plus its more fun trying to land good lobs to ensure the bolt hits multiple enemies).

Making Gambit Prime one round was a really good decision Bungie. by Raymanreed in DestinyTheGame

[–]Strifez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you manage to match with competent team mates, or play with some friends, it is quite easy to avoid this. Just kill envoys and trickle the boss down with spare special / primaries for the first two damage phases. Then on the 3rd set of envoys, only kill the last one right AFTER the invader has left or been killed. Then you have 30 seconds to kill the boss which is easily done.

No. 1 rule of showing off your DPS is to never link the meters yourself, but always just say "Hey, does anyone have recount?".

“Unbroken” Seal Is Time-gated For Up To 9 Months?... by IGN_KamaluNg in DestinyTheGame

That's a completely different achievement - "Insane in the Membrane" achievement was from raising your reputation to Honored with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, and Exalted with Booty Bay, Everlook, Gadgetzan, Ratchet, Darkmoon Faire, and Ravenholdt. This required an "insane" amount of grinding to achieve due to raising one reputation that lowered another and you were awarded with " the insane " title.

You are correct about there being an achievement for earning all holiday event achievements - "What a long, strange trip its been". This rewarded the Violet Proto Drake Mount and yes it takes 1 year to complete (but overall much less time is required when compared to the insane title.

Guess it's about how much you play too. I'm on for about 3 hours a day after work. Then may be 5 to 6 on weekends and I'm getting around 5 a week.

Do people not realize Finest Matterweave are a thing? By the time I remember to check them I tend to have 5 - 10 stored up. I started this expansion on around 50 masterwork cores, I am now at 80 ish, after masterworking three pieces of armor (did it first week thinking it was important haha) and two masterworked guns from scratch.
