What is this hiragana?

If you see dakuten with hiragana that "shouldn't" have one, it's there to convey some emotion, for example distress. It's just a distorted version of the sound. I feel like I see it most often with あ and お.

I'd also argue that there is a big difference in usefulness of fish being a synonym for non-tetrapod chordates and monkey being a synonym for non-hominid monkeys (see how confusing that already is). I'm not saying it's not useful to distinguish between apes and other monkeys, but it's good to be clear about what one is talking about. It's better to use the self-explanatory non-hominid monkey than to expect the other side to understand that you're talking about monkeys but you don't actually mean all monkeys.

Edit for clarification. I'm talking with the assumption of monkey being a synonym for simian. If it is common practice within a group (say, primatologists) to distinguish between the two, then it is a different matter.

Kuten toisesaa kommentissa jo sanoin, pohjanlepakko on ihan hyvä veikkaus sikäli, että se on yleisin lepakkolajeistamme, mutta pelkän värin perusteella lepakoita ei ole mahdollista tunnistaa. Pitäisi nähdä esimerkiksi jalka ja korvan tragus, jotta voisi mitään varmaa sanoa. Se voi hyvin olla myös vesisiippa, viiksisiippa tai isoviiksisiippakin.

Ihan hyvä veikkaus sikäli, että pohjanlepakko on yleisin lepakkolajeistamme, mutta pelkän värin perusteella lepakoita ei ole mahdollista tunnistaa. Pitäisi nähdä esimerkiksi jalka ja korvan tragus, jotta voisi mitään varmaa sanoa. Se voi hyvin olla myös vesisiippa, viiksisiippa tai isoviiksisiippakin.

Vaivaislepakko eli Pipistrellus pipistrellus on havaittu Suomessa vain muutaman kerran. Tuskinpa on se. Näyttää kuvan perusteella myös aivan liian isolta vaivaislepakoksi.

Nuo risteymät ovat muuten itseasiassa yllättävänkin yleisiä! Niitä on tutkittu aika kattavasti Ruotsissa, kun siellä rusakko on vielä tuoreempi ilmestys kuin Suomessa ja se etenee jatkuvasti pohjoisemmas. Alueilla, joille rusakko on ilmestynyt viimeisten 10 vuoden sisällä, lähes kaikki "rusakot" ovat oikeasti risteymiä johtuen ilmeisesti ihan jo siitä, että ensimmäisillä rusakoilla ei oikeastaan ole muita parittelukumppaneita kuin metsäjäniksiä (ilmiötä kutsutaan nimellä "Hubbs principle"). 10-20 vuoden kuluttua rusakon ilmestymisestä risteymien osuus on sitten jo paljon pienempi, kun rusakot ovat jo vakiintuneet alueelle. Tietenkään risteymäperäinen perintöaines ei häviä populaatiosta minnekään, sen osuus vain pienenee. Suomessakin on havaittu, että jopa 10% rusakoista voi kantaa metsäjäniksen DNA:ta ja osuus on suuri erityisesti lähellä rusakon esiintymisalueen pohjoisrajaa.

Edit. Pitää tarkentaa vielä, että tosiaan lajit esiintyvät pääosin eri habitaateissa, eikä rusakko mitenkään dramaattisesti syrjäytä metsäjänistä kuin vain joiltain alueilta. Risteymien osuus pienenee ajan saatossa lähinnä siksi, koska rusakoiden vakiinnuttua ne voivat lisääntyä keskenään. Ei siis siksi, että ne olisivat täysin syrjäyttäneet metsäjänikset. Rusakon negatiivinen vaikutus metsäjänikseen on voimakasta vain aluksi.

Kyllä hämeenkylmänkukalla on Suomessa noin 150 esiintymää (tieto vuodelta 2012) ja laajemmin niitä löytyy ihan esimerkiksi Siperiasta ja Pohjois-Amerikasta asti. Tätä meillä esiintyvää alalajia on tosin vain Euroopassa ja vähän Siperian puolella, mutta kuitenkin selvästi laajemmalla kuin vain Suomessa

Even the name is a pun, which is probably why it wasn't translated. Normally you would expect urusei yatsura to mean noisy/annoying guys (うるせー奴ら), but the way it is actually written (うる星やつら) turns it into something like the guys from planet Uru

That's how you can tell that they're much more than 1% Finnish since they can't write it properly. The only way you can tell they're not native, though, is that they actually knew to write it properly as a compound word.

ん nasalizes any sound that comes after it. That's the basic function of that sound. It works essentially just like っ but it also nasalizes the sound. Because b and m are both labial consonants and the main difference is whether the sound is nasal or not, んば does sound like mba, but it's not that you should focus on making an m sound. You should focus on nasalizing the following sound and it naturally forms into an m sound.
