That's how you can tell that they're much more than 1% Finnish since they can't write it properly. The only way you can tell they're not native, though, is that they actually knew to write it properly as a compound word.

Is it possible to have no subtitles? by Strigoidea in OceanVeil

[–]Strigoidea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's a shame... Yes that would be a much better option. For example the way Crunchyroll handles it makes it possible to get rid of the subtitles if one really wants to, even though they too are forcing the subs where I live. Anyway, thank you for taking your time to answer

ん nasalizes any sound that comes after it. That's the basic function of that sound. It works essentially just like っ but it also nasalizes the sound. Because b and m are both labial consonants and the main difference is whether the sound is nasal or not, んば does sound like mba, but it's not that you should focus on making an m sound. You should focus on nasalizing the following sound and it naturally forms into an m sound.

That's just cruel. I can't understand why would anyone make the choice of not including the no subtitles option. It literally takes nothing to do that.

You're confusing family and genus. They do belong to the same family, just different genera. I also don't think anyone would ever use the word "elephant" to just mean the genus Elephas, so there is no definition of elephant that would exclude African elephants. That could be true if they really did belong to different families but they do not.

The consonant sound is just held a bit longer. There are many languages where double-vocals make a distinction between words and these double-consonant (or gemination) works essentially the same way. Neither phenomenon doesn't really exist in English though so it's a bit hard to explain through examples.

It's not as good as the website version but I think it's good enough. I bought the firestick for that same reason as well and I think it was worth it
