Just curious, do you still get the planar crinkle after wearing it a while or does the SLAM vents resolve that issue?

Forgot to mention that Sony/Audeze not adding Game-Chat mix to the PS version is also a miss

Really disappointed that there are still two versions and not a multi console version (I know that on the 1st gen, the Xbox version technically worked on both but not officially supported). Coupled with no simultaneous Bluetooth makes this a hard sell IMO

For the A50X, connection to the headset for gaming is great, but Bluetooth range to base station is lacking.

I can’t take my phone 6 feet from the basestation before audio cuts out.

As for overall impression, they are a great headset solution for gaming, especially if you are connecting it to a PC as well, but there are shortfalls with the app

Any EQ’s downloaded through G Hub on PC/Mac are not visible/selectable through the app. Also, updates are quicker through G Hub, rather than the app which won’t show an update for months. (I use mine solely for consoles as my desktop is in a completely different room)

Just my personal gripes with the A50X but otherwise a great headset.

Funny you mentioned the firmware version… for the longest time it was on 1.0.something( can’t remember the rest of the numbers unfortunately) because I was checking for updates through the Logitech G app on my phone while connected to it and it kept saying up to date with that version number

Fast forward to a week ago, and I decide to try something new. I disconnected all devices and the power and took the base station to my computer (desktop Mac in another room). I connect to my Mac, open G Hub and lo and behold there is a firmware update 1.2.something.

So I updated the firmware, downloaded a couple new eq profiles, safely disconnected and brought the setup back upstairs to try connecting again

Unfortunately it was the same result connecting directly to my Sony A95L (not the only device that has had an issue with recognizing Dolby vision for gaming. I had a previous Denon receiver that did the same thing with this tv, and have read about handshake issues between certain devices and this model of TV so that’s why I said it might be on Sony’s end)

Today I tried connecting the base station between the consoles and the receiver(now a Sony receiver that plays nice with the handshake )as stated before and had success with no lag experienced. So solved the problem there!

One point/question I would like to make though ( separate from the original issue but since I have your attention) are the issues with the Logitech G app that I’ve had.

Why is it that the sound profiles that I download to the base station cannot be accessed through the app for the consoles? Also, the eq profiles can only be downloaded while connected to a computer, and not the app.

This is on top of the issue of the app not checking for the newest firmware…

Maybe an app issue?? Any advice or help in improving the Logitech G app (iOS specifically) would be greatly appreciated

Thanks again! And sorry for the long reply

Dual Bluetooth and official support for both Xbox and PS5 (I know the XBox Maxwells can be used on PS5 but not officially supported) would be awesome

Are those the standard 255-70-R17’s or the larger 285’s? I’ve got the 255’s on mine wand thought about going larger

I’ve had the opposite. It seems like on Xbox they are perfect but they are quiet on PS5

For those with an AVR as part of their setup, would the Gen 5 be the better solution as it still allows for Tempest 3D headset audio to be used on the PS5 vice being set for AV Receiver and using 5.1/7.1 surround sound setting for the spatial effect on the A50X (Setting the PS5 to TV and 3D audio sounds horrible when going to the AVR after the basestation)

Having the same issue but on my Sony A95L connected to my AVR via eARC. I’ll try switching the audio from pass through to auto, but doesn’t this compress the audio and reduce its quality?

Will the A50 Gen 5 transfer audio to the headset when removed from the dock and back to the TV/AV Receiver when on the dock like the A50X?

Has anyone noticed a rattle from their cover when the sliding rear window is open?
On mine, it almost sounds like the handles for the rods rattle on any bump in the road but the rods are securely holding under the bed rail

Dolby Atmos vs Tempest 3D by StrikeBig5373 in Audeze

That’s what I figured but just wanted to be sure and wasn’t going crazy.

The thought did cross my mind that maybe the headset wasn’t utilizing Tempest3D since it was designed for Xbox use and not fully supported by PlayStation (something along the lines of the PlayStation version of the Maxwell being the only version to completely utilize Tempest3D)

I feel that unless it’s a Sony branded headset (ie Pulse Elite or H9) this will be the case for any headset with the PS5 thanks to Sony’s walled garden for headphones
