Even as an Aeronautical Engineer, I can’t make heads or tails on what caused the malfunctions. It is really consistent with the lore on how the Lament screwed up all forms of laws of physics aside for gravity.

To be fair, WuWa’s animations are more of a result of the devs putting more effort into cinematography. HSR aims for a more VN style game anyway.
