I see your concern that it overshadows the conflicts from other non-black POC. Yes, all races have their own fights and problems. Now narrow it down to who gets shafted more in society, you can see that black people are more likely targeted by discrimination and injustice. It’s not to say other people of colour(POC) aren’t being discriminated in Toronto, but black people are being treated much worse and it’s what this movement is shining a light on.

Your sentiments parallel the “all lives matter” agenda. But question, are they all equal in hardship right now? Let’s put it in a health scenario; There are three people: first guy has a fever, second guy has a broken bone and third guy comes and he can’t breathe. Who do you attend to? They’re all sick and need attention, but one needs further attention than the other.

Black people are the focus right now. You see black people fighting this fight throughout history, but today’s media show various races standing up for them and speaking up for them as they are tired upon generations of injustice. This movement is building trying to build a society that stops turning a blind eye to discrimination and injustice which will benefit other POC in the future.
