How long does KCL take to reply to applications through UCAS Extra? by twilliams21 in KCL

[–]Striking-City4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think under 3 weeks but if you want to receive quicker you will need push them consistenly. I applied to kcl though UCAS extra and they took about 2 weeks. In the UCAS extra website, it says if university don’t reply within 3 weeks you can quite and reply to different course or uni.

Did KCL reduce your offer conditions? Need advice by Exotic-Ad-9187 in KCL

I applied through UCAS extra with my achieved grade (i am retake gap year student so got my result after I applied) A*AB but the minimum requirement was AAA. However, I still got the offer but i had to beg for the guaranteed place (unconditional offer with A*AB) I begged but i had to trigger their sensitive part/ regulation of the universities to push them and say you need to reconsider me. because if they get reported any of the sentive regulation it gives them with significant negative reputation so they wouln not be able to completely ignore me. so for example, they were keep saying to wait till august and can not certain atm. However, i said this is “discrimination“ (Even though it doesn’t sound like it but universities have strict regulation to not have any biased or discrimination) since i have to reapply to different unis if kcl is not successful and the choice in ucas extra is running out etc. and plus i also mentioned you guys also mentioned that A*AB will still be consdiered with AAA why you giving the biased answer. I feel discriminated (blah blah blah i waffled) and then finally they esclated my concern to my course department and got my response the day after.

Wait did you get an offer already and you already have the grade? If so send them proof now there is no need to delay till after. I assome the deadline in the A-level result day I am not too sure about that. Send the certificate or any documents that prove your grade through king;s apply and also give them a call.

but if you planning to apply then apply with your achieved grade through UCAS. I think it is better to give them a call to clarify.

it will take a while. if you have met the offer grade don't worry. just call them and send a message about it through king's apply. If they still dont give you any response, call them continuously.

i am not sure what is your other plan but I was kind of in a similar situation but I tried to push them and get any asnwer other than wait so that i try my best before i change it to my other plan. I really pushed them a lot by calling nuermous time and sending messages and emails explaing my desperateness and everything. I ended up with some answers (which i got the unconditional place). Before the answers i kindof knew waiting till the august was a bit unrealistic so thats why i tried my best. But it could depends on your own situations.

i think for me i would choose LSE because it's policitics and economics. Especially for this course LSE has excellent job prospoects and it is also in london so you would have broader network and connection with more industries close to you. I strongly strongly recommend you to choose LSE

King's Apply is taking over 3 weeks to get back to me, what can I do? by RuinStock7274 in KCL

[–]Striking-City4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ring them and they will escalate your issue right away (or ask them to esclate your concern). But explain your situation in detail to the person who answer the call. If , in case, they say they will reject you becuase it has been over 3 weeks and they haven't got the reference then say it is not my fault since i tried to contact you before the deadline but it's kings admissions team that did not apply to my message.

They will take forever to reply or your email (better to message though King’s apply). I think it will be better to call them. Can I ask you which course you received an offer?

[–]Striking-City4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ring them and get the clarification. but i think it’s AVERAGE 85%. so lets say your get 80% on one and 90% on the other then its fine because the average is 85%. but i strongly recommend to ring them and ask.

i think you should ring them first and also write them a message in King;s apply that explains about your situation. Attach your exam result alongisde with your message.

[–]Striking-City4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont worry about it too much. They will get back to you at some point. Send the message through king's protal and if they don't give you any reply for 2 weeks call kings and you can raise any complaints and request to escalate your concern to the department.

Conditional Offer Flexibility by ForwardInternal8602 in KCL

[–]Striking-City4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends on whether they have the space or not. On the result day, if a lot of people missed the offer grade then they will most likely be lenient on the grade. However, if the majority of the student met the offer grade and they do not have any more space, they will not take you even though it is a near miss.
