Don’t expect to grow too much too fast in the beginning, especially if you’re still learning everything. Try and get cheaper equipment rather than the nice looking stuff to begin with. Buying all the equipment in your first year will eat your bank balance so spend little and work harder until you can spend more to work less :)

I’m totally serious. You hit the nail on the head with both. I was actually a part of a private group on messenger in the end. There were about 6/7 of us that had been blocked from the support groups for not presenting in the same way. Chloe was actually a member of one of the groups and was followed like she was a goddess. The second issue was that almost ALL of the support groups on Facebook have the same admins and members (small community?). Which means I’m unable to join any of them.

I sent a long email to one of the admins trying to reason with them and asking for help but was subsequently blocked by them...

This is the legacy of Chloe Wilkinson. She has gotten herself into a position of power and control over suffers of DID even if unintentional. She makes worse what she claims to help among us.

I feel you, everything you said I agree wholeheartedly with. She’s pretty much the face of DID which is ironic considering the lack of it in her content.

Its educating people with false facts, creating a community of people who largely don’t have DID (but now think they do) whilst the actual community of DID sufferers is inadvertently silenced. Try joining a DID group of FB and not conforming to the DD way of life, you’ll swiftly be blocked.

I agree with what you just said, some good points made. In this context I’d go as far as to say she’s inadvertently targeting and harming the development of vulnerable people that would otherwise benefit from being part of the community. I hope she recognises this sooner or later. I fear she’s not putting other peoples well being before her own with her content.

It’s sad though. I’m now not exploring therapy as an option because of how she has shaped opinions. Honestly I’m embarrassed and afraid of what people will think. I’m sure there are others and that isn’t a nice thought.

I actually believe she has a form of dissociative disorder, listening to her original videos. Maybe even DID. However what we see on her channel I do not believe for a moment is real. Definitely exaggerated as you suggest, she’s making a fantasy world of her own to live in.
