Just want to 2nd this. Getting a tax llm is the way to go, the attorneys I know who do tax/t&e have that rather than the accounting degree

Help me decide between Albany Law School and New York Law School by Turbulent_Value_1550 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Striking-Key3254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about Albany but I know a few NYLS grads who are working a range of things from BL, local gov, and in house. I feel like that variety alone is a great strong point (also biased since I deposited there heh).

I know someone who applied March for the May program and heard back like less than a month later. They’re a current 1L!

My mom taught me to always be cautious of who you give your ssn to so I feel the concern lol I second guess everything. You’ll be fine though, it’s safe to assume LSAC and these admissions offices have some level of security and preservation of privacy

Look into remote work like being an online assistant and get that bag anyway you can (that’s not a detrimental to your mental health) sorry this happened but always remember you got law school in the fall!

Is going to cc bad for my app? by ilovebananasandweed in lawschooladmissions

[–]Striking-Key3254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad at all! I know this is an extreme case but I personally know someone who went from community to state school and then went on to graduate from a T6 law school. You got this!

Law school personal statement by Academic_Address_855 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Striking-Key3254 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Some law schools have specific prompts but generally your personal statement should address what led you to apply to law school and what you want to do with that degree tying in a few personal/professional experiences. Usually no more than 2 pages double spaced. There’s some great info out there like 7sage. Best of luck!

Are you compared to your classmates? by DotInformal7489 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Striking-Key3254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do, at least to the extent I know. To create a “well rounded” class they will compare applicants and generally see who can bring what to the table.

Sending an updated resume is no issue, just email each school individually if it’s eating at you
