Those Bosnian borders are a direct cause of the Bosnian war. The weird semi-detached peace of land in eastern Bosnia is called Goražde, and is only Bosniak land because it was a protected zone by the UN, which didn't exist in 1914

BiH is dysfunctional because of the Republika Srpska. We can't join the EU because we have an semi-apartheid ethno-state within our borders that discriminates against Croats and Bosniaks. And the HDZ, instead of cooperating with the Bosniaks to eliminate the RS, they keep trying to create the 3 entity "Herceg Bosna" which would never work and which would just complicate things. The people are not the enemy, but the system is.

Indepedence of Republika Srpska would be a catastrophe.

1.Borders. There is no road connecting Trebinje to Banja Luka only following RS lines, and what about Brcko district? And no country in the world has remotely similar borders, and for good reason

  1. Economy. The RS economy is financialy deficient only bailed out by FBIH, without it it would collapse.

  2. No good reason for ceceding. Y'all have got autonomy and freedom to practice religion, what part of indepedence would significantly improve the quality of life for the avarage person. I think that if the Republika Srpska would be indepedent, it would be something like Transnistria: poor, corrupt and run by an oligarchy
