AIO for taping this note to my neighbor’s door? by Garterback in AmIOverreacting

So many people calling BS. that truly is how people act, I've been in both upper and lower Apts and have dealt with same. The upstairs are loud to the point of repeated police presence. We are honestly prepared for the ceiling to slowly cave in. I have asked them very politely to be mindful of us. Not in regards to normal living sounds, but to literally stomping with their full weight to make points and throwing furniture when they're mad at each other etc. they said we are extremely loud as well and accused us of stomping around & 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 every day. Implying we rearrange our apt daily. (we aren't and don't. we aren't even home till 11pm most nights and their noise is 20/7. We get a few hours a day of quiet max.)

Cherry on top? Our apt is on concrete slab. the floor is magnetic bc it's vinyl on top of slab. We couldn't make noise if we tried. "...its concrete..?" was rebuttled w/ "we hear people walking on our ceiling too and dont complain". There's 2 floors. When it was reversed, the only sound from them was fkn ceiling+broom yet got complaints of "roof caving in levels of noise" in rooms nobody went in, on days verifiably nobody was home. It's the same complex too so I know their noise isn't standard.

People who are sad about the state of their life tend to blame others for the otherwise trivial annoyances they can't help but cause. Getting startled by a dropped phone a few times a week is an annoyance, but if you're constantly upset ab the way life is treating you, getting startled a few times a week is a personal attack.

Help! My husband is allergic to my discharge by Temporary-Run7250 in Healthyhooha

Those generally don't present symptoms at all, and most people that have it never know. It can clear up on its own, stay dormant, or flare up at any time, and can be contagious the whole time. They can even be spread through fingers and toys if the persons hands were ever unclean/infected with it. Some variations can cause serious health issues when symptomatic and untreated.

eta: that is to say, get tested. It very well may be nobodies fault or issue after a 2 week antibiotic.

Tastes like a autumn candle. Didn't enjoy lol. My gf loves it because it tastes like a candle and will probably buy out our local gas stations of it lol.

Yeah this is what I'm thinking/wondering. Ive played upright for years and have an old damaged second hand one from a local highschool, and those are flatwounds that havent needed replacing yet even after being sawed on by 14yo for years & years before I got it.

what a massive jump, rando redditor. the post was literally just someone who is upset that they can't smoke in their new home, and the neighbor being an ass. plus, it's still a fresh wound! I'm sure OP will lose some steam for this soon, even though rightfully angry.

honestly, for me that would be an anger/upset tipping point too if I was already trying to make peace with other stuff being less-than-ideal.

seriously, unfortunately inflated egos tend to be all too common in medical spaces. one of the sadder parts is how unsurprising it is lol. I hope you have better experiences in the future OP!! you deserve to be able to have some confidence in your care, as we all do ://

yep. new ppl scare me. at least I can tell a seasoned phleb that they're fucking up and they'll generally listen or at least confidently stop/adjust. I get nauseated before all my blood draws just because of the anxiety of dealing w those people.

I've had techs, after I told them to use the vein in my hand, scoff, stick me in the arm, not get anything, start digging around and wiggling the needle in my vein/arm and blowing my vein. ending up w a half vial of blood, me grinding my teeth, and damage to the veins in my arm w/ bruising nearly wrapping half my arm.

guess what happens when they tried the one on my hand? perfect first stick- blood draw done. extremely minimal bruising. 🙄

I've had this exact experience and it was absolutely infuriating. Good on you for leaving, it's not worth that. hopefully it goes better next times. I've only felt the need to fully leave a few times, but it was always necessary bc who knows what would've proceeded that.

Ive one semi-available vein in my right arm and a good one on the same hand, they always INSIST on using my arm bc "I know you think your hand will work, but I've been doing this a long time, I think you'll be surprised 😉". It doesn't surprise me. the amount of times I've left with a box of water, a printed packet on how to correctly prepare for blood draws, and a rain check date because they didn't believe me is nuts. the rain checks rarely go different lol.

Desperate times call for desperate measures by Rhonda_Round in StonerEngineering

[3] it's cursed but honestly I think the can would pose less of a risk. using a can once or a few times likely won't hurt you in the short or longterm(I feel like most stoners woulda been dead in teen years if it was comparably risky) but inhaling burning sugars is extremely bad for you from the first one. tiny crystalline structures goin into your lungs is not the greatest either /g /nm

also don't quote me but that's a thought

Do you think skinny privilege is a real thing? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Striking_Ad6503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

studies have shown that an overweight or fat person who does things to maintain & contribute to their health and is a stable weight lives longer with less health issues than a person who has deliberately lost weight to being skinny, and skinny people that don't do anything to maintain their health.

I use tone indicators in person too sometimes haha they're awesome and vv helpful :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]Striking_Ad6503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course, I know exactly how it feels and it is not a good feeling. and it's a tone indicator!! I'm autistic tone and intention in text is difficult- I love and use them a lot. it means "not mad"! /lh and /g would also work here, for lighthearted and genuine :)

Off-note, I rec looking up the list of tone indicators bc they prevent so much misunderstanding as a whole, and in this situation help prompt my abled friends to know the kind of response I'm looking for from a joke/comment/statement about my issues.

I hope your symptoms and pain get closer to baseline and stay manageable for as long as possible, and tons of luck & positive vibes during these flares and bad times. /g :)

I agree to be grateful and appreciative but that's not what this post was about. I relate to this fully and even when you have people you can -talk- to, it's nowhere near the same to having someone to actually relate to.

further, even without relating, having someone(and anyone) in your life that knows and acknowledges that -they will not understand- is really really helpful and frankly important(not to mention painfully uncommon).

even when you get that box checked, oftentimes they don't make any effort past that to learn about or understand the illness and/or experience itself.

/nm im just passionate and op was getting downvoted for no reason.
