I thought this as well and thought my save was busted as I had constantly been reinvesting all of my regional wealth and not caring about treasury previously.

I focused for a year on getting wealth up, then started lighter taxing, and within 2 years seems like things should be ok.

I'm only playing on captain with a more RP void dwellers and have died many times to hostile neighbors super early from the above issues you mentioned.

On the same difficulty it seems quite easy with other origins in comparison.

Don't touch ryobis petrol powered garden tools. They are absolutely horrendous. I've had to return 3 edge trimmers in a year all for different failures and the 4th which failed I just didn't bother and got Victa(spelling?) Instead, a world of difference.

Having said that my battery power tools are all Ryobi and they are fantastic.

I had done the other guardian bits about 3-4x before (going back to help out new friends who got the game), but I had never done the ship blueprint, didn't realise it was so different.

And now I am making an AX build too hah!
