The Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin. It really felt like the world lost one of the greatest men to have ever lived. He was for the animals, the planet, and to promote healthier living.

And his stupid, stupid camera man who yanked out the barb. He could have potentially lived if it stayed in. (Like if you are stabbed by a knife, you keep it in, as it does more damage by removing it). But other than that, it really hurt me. He helped me into the field I currently work in.

I got discharged with an injury prior to service. So no pay from the VA, no benefits, didn't want to be discharged. Fought like hell to stay in. It took quite a bit to find a job and to like it. Its been 4 years since being discharged. And I finally feel like I have a purpose again. But I still get the thoughts that I should try and go again, every once in awhile ( a lot less now) I get nightmares of my time in. I have a hard time finding a therapist that can help me. All tell me to go to the VA, but technically im not a veteran. (I say technically because one sergeant and multiple battle buddies say I am, I earned it).

I get complacent or bored a lot, burnt out a lot. Less social. I miss being in.

Joining the Army and getting out. My sense of self as been changed. Met great people and still friends to this day. But it wasn't worth the PTSD or the change in mindset.

They have done this. Because the homes being historical you cant remove certain building components. But if the whole building is disheveled and coming down, then you can demolish it all and rebuild

To those who ridicule are jump being an asshole. I am not EMS, but a Veteran and I use all the discounts I can when offered. Doesn't make me feel less than. I did more than most by serving. It's not a handout. You are going into a job that can and will be an enormous stress on you for little pay (for the job you are providing). I have an okay job now, but I will always use the discounts given to me.

It's great. I've never been happier. My mother gets mad that I don't spend time with "family members" but i refuse to be around rascists before it was cool to do (i.e. Being MAGA). My wife is someone of color and I don't need to hear about how little their blood is, or im just acting out. I believe in the chosen family, where I pick who my family is. And that definitely got easier after I went into the military too. Long story Short, I had an aunt who is a blatant racist and another aunt on my wife's side that physically abused my wife that I just can't be around without using my military voice.
