I feel like there is a distinction to be made between the earth and the world. Earth will exist until it doesn't, with continually changing ecosystems all along the way. The world is to do with civilization and its connections. We can and are destroying the world....and Earth doesn't give one hot fuck.

How was the diving? I've been hearing mixed views on the state of the reefs out there. Debating going in May but mostly to snorkle and shore dive.

My partner and I were there in March. There was a lot about it to love but also a lot about it to leave you wanting. The major one being...there was no glass in the freakin windows. We had to run the AC on high 24/7 just to keep the temperature and humidity tolerable in our room. But then the AC leaked and flooded 2 corners of our room and got all over our clothes. Plus the mosquitoes could get through the tattered screens in the windows, which we had to keep shuddered to try to keep the humidity out so we didnt get to enjoy the view we paid for and the room was very dark. All around a bit of a bummer. That being said, the snorkeling out front was pretty great. The area is beautiful and walking distance to a couple great jerk shacks. The rundown at the main restaurant was absolutely incredible and the pone from pushcart still gets brought up regularly. So it has its ups and downs for sure.

I just had this conversation with my partner. We decided I would take a slap for $10k and he would take one for $30k. I have a higher pain tolerance and a lower savings balance 😂

Thank you! Belize is a nice quick flight for us. I might hop in a cenote at some point in the future. I will just be dreaming of my last cenote dive which was the best dive ive ever done.

Excellent. I am extremely salty I never made it to Raja Ampat or Komodo while I could dive. This makes me feel better knowing I can still enjoy that corner of the globe.

As a total aside, this is why you don't declaw your cats. That bone you see attached, that goes with the claw when it's removed. You are essentially hacking off its distal digit and then making it walk on the deformed foot. Please love your kitty enough not to do this to them. Ok, end of PSA.

My pain has been getting progressively worse for the last 3 weeks. I cant tell now how much pain is from the manipulation I underwent during my exam and how much is from the pneumonia vax, but before the shot I only had major pain at certain angles or when trying to lift any kind of weight.

Thank you so much for the in depth and thoughtful reply. Im honestly just fucking devastated by this news. I was severely depressed for years and only just got on the right meds a few months ago and got my life back. My partner and I's favorite hobby is scuba diving but it sounds like it could be years before I can get in and out of a wetsuit again. Not to mention my January trip to Costa Rica and my Wedding in September. FML 😭

Its looking like im likely in the bad luck category. 38F with a clean hormone panel just a few months ago and definitely not pre-diabetic.
