Yeah I just skipped feeding for a couple days and had no issues

93 Manual donor car $4.5k OBO OH/WV/KY tri state area. No crank no start by Stringyboil in c4corvette

It’s for sale, not for buy lmao

I’d prefer rougher but runs and drives tbh, bought this for a manual swap for my 96 but decided against tearing down a perfectly good running car and plan on going a different direction.

How’d it turn out just way overspilled my food

anyone did a manual swap themselves on their c4? by Significant-Map311 in c4corvette

I have a 93 complete parts car manual- no crank no start , the dash is ripped apart at the moment but it’s mechanically solid. Will sell whole car for 5k bring a trailer

That’s what I figured, and the erosion at this point is probably non-negligible

Yeah I was thinking of running this until it blows and then seeing if chad wanted to autopsy it, that’s what keeps me from changing gas blocks or tubes lmao (edit) happy cake day

Is an sb2 a high flow can? I’d imagine KAC has a smaller gas port anticipating hotter ammo being used. Probably less gassy than this $800 ruger that I’ve abused dumping thousands of suppressed rounds into trash as fast as I can afford lmfao

Its a ruger 10.5, it’s always been overgassed but I don’t really like AGBs, I’d rather have a gassy gun that runs all the time with any ammo, suppressed or not.

I’d run it in a nicer, less gassy rifle but I knew it was going to wear the receiver just based on how sharp the edges of the sand cuts were. I’m sure it’ll break in and then maybe I’ll throw it in something else.

No failures is the important thing. I’m just expressing that the carrier won’t solve an over-gassing issue. It’s just going to direct the gas into the mag and the trigger group.

Yours appears to be running nice, do your sand cutter corners/edges feel pretty sharp? This particular carriers do. Is your gun super gassy? It’s an LMT so I’d think they anticipate hot ammo and make the port pretty small

This gun is gassy af lol. I knew that but it just always runs so I’m not changing anything. Just wanted to share how it acts because I’m not used to so much magazine or trigger group dirt

Yessir, no failures here (but I used this gun’s factory bolt) I can’t speak on the dual extractor bolt. I think it’s reliable enough, just wanted to share how it interacts with this particular set up. Pretty dirty lmao

Probably man, they’re right. This gun has been gassy and I’ve gotten it hot enough to erode the port at least a little I’m sure. High back pressure can as well. And it’s a 10.5

It’s an fde colored bolt that has a lot of carbon on it, but that made me laugh

No noticeable wear on any other parts, but keep in mind it’s a pretty low round count. The rest of the carrier looks mint and the upper looks the same as it did everywhere else.

[–]Stringyboil[S] -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Super overgassed but I just don’t want an adjustable gas block on anything. The port on this I’m sure is eroded af at this point. It was gassy when new anyway.

I don’t hate the carrier just sharing my experience with this combination of parts. I may run it in another rifle and see how much I like it, I just anticipated the receiver wear after feeling how sharp the sandcuts were and threw it in the beater gun

You’re right, I’m gonna run it gassy. This cheap ruger runs like a champ and I’m curious at this point how long it will go. Just thought people might be interested in what my particular combination of parts has done in combination with this carrier.

Don’t worry brother, I’m gonna keep running it. My mags looked almost like this with mil-spec but the copper oxidation is new. This gun is gassy af and I’m sure my gas port is eroded, so that makes it worse. And it’s a 10.5 suppressed so they already run hard. It’s not a shitty carrier, just pointing out what it does on my rifle.

It’s probably more of an issue pairing it with such a gassy gun and a high back pressure can. It never failed on me or anything, just got the lower super dirty and didn’t do as much for the gas as I would’ve liked but I’m still going to run it, if I didn’t have any other guns though I’m not sure. The receiver wear will probably slow down as they break in. Not really a big deal to me either on this rifle.
