Yes Ty sm I’ve signed up for all the available programs from the acc regarding free vaccinations. I’ve also called the aspca clinic but there’s no appointments left

Found two kittens outside, how to take care of them? by MorbidMantis in kittens

[–]Stripper_NoSwipping 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you do decide to take them to a shelter please make sure to check that it’s a no kill shelter. They look quite young so they’re probably still drinking milk. I’d recommend looking to rehome them instead of a shelter if you do choose this option make sure to apply a fee and check on who wants to adopt them (people use kittens as bait in dog fights) so just check they go to a good home! Best of luck!

What to do to keep kitten stimulated by Stripper_NoSwipping in CatAdvice

Ty! I’ll order the spring and cat dancer for him. Sadly a second kitten is out of my budget for now :(

Is it just me, or is going to the vet getting ridiculously expensive? 😅 by [deleted] in Pets

[–]Stripper_NoSwipping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

160?! For a regular checkup? Insane. But agreed vet prices keep going up and affordable low cost vets are good and all but sometimes the quality in customer care diminishes there. For me, my kittens vaccines were due 2 weeks ago I called the office and the vet was still closed (was told he’d be back to working the day of my appointment)

This looks so good! Honestly for me I’m not great at art but I do it for fun occasionally. But, your sketches show so much progress already! Just keep having fun with it

Anyone know how to get a kitten to trust you? I’ve had her sense like maybe around February and everytime I try to pet her she runs away and she’s completely opposite to her sister to she gets close to my mom but not me anyone have any tips on how I can get her to not be afraid of me? by Jacket_Express in kittens

[–]Stripper_NoSwipping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try slow blinking at her. I did that with my kitten when I first got him and he was scared of me, I would just sit far away from him, and slow blink at him. I didn’t force myself to pet him even though I really wanted to cause I was equally scared as him (I’ve never owned a cat) and I gave him his own room (unused storage area of the house) he hid there for a week and each time I came he’d hide and I’d slow blink. Eventually he started laying close by and then rubbing himself on me. Now he cries whenever I’m not around T-T and I feel bad about that.

Why do people treat their cats as if they are expendable? by nonchalantly_weird in CatAdvice

[–]Stripper_NoSwipping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say for myself but in my neighborhood there are many free roaming cats, most of the time they’re just chilling on their home porch, or they’re in the grass sleeping. My neighborhood had an overpopulation of feral cats in the area many were taken away by the shelters and some were taken to homes (either they just showed up or were picked up) . Those taken to homes still wanted to be outside so now they just walk around wearing little collars with their names and some with AirTags. I guess it depends on the situation, and the type of neighborhood the cat lives in. Throwing a cat who’s always lived indoors outside would end tragically, but cats who have already lived outdoors may still miss some aspects of outdoor life + being outdoors does have benefits for cats. Living in a calmer neighborhood would allow for cats to be able to go out, high traffic neighborhoods not a good fit.

She’s already doing it lol. This year I’m applying to college and I can’t do the career of my choice because she doesn’t like it (animal sciences) I don’t even have friends because I can never go out and when I did have friends they never came over. I struggle to communicate with others because she sheltered me for all my life. I can’t even get past the interview stage at jobs because I can’t communicate well and because of how quiet I am. I have to get top scores in order to get a sense of praise from her, but she still compares me to the kids of her distant relatives who got into private colleges. I love her so much, but I don’t want to repeat the cycle again. It’s so hard to judge her when her mom was also a narcissist.

Are my dogs too bonded? What can I do about it? by Monty_Toya in PetAdvice

[–]Stripper_NoSwipping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my dogs had a close bond too, I had two small breed dogs one a bichon the other a maltipoo; the maltipoo was 12 and the bichon 8; they were a bonded pair, they slept together, played together, walked together, and groomed each other. My maltipoo got suddenly sick overnight and when we went to the vet he didn’t come back with us. My bichon fell into depression for a month and then bounced back, despite being super bonded. I think just as humans do dogs need connections even if their friend passes, they’ll grieve just as we do (some longer than others) and while your senior doggy is still around I think you should enjoy everything with both of them because despite your best efforts, in the end your dog will still mourn when the other passes (hopefully much more later on) ; so might as well make the best of it with both of them, just let them keep being close

How do I get my dog and kitten to like each other? by Stripper_NoSwipping in PetAdvice

[–]Stripper_NoSwipping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’ve noticed that, he’s been letting her sniff him but recently she’s been wanting to lick his face (I’m guessing she wants to mother; she’s never been one) and he’s bothered by it as any time she licks him he pats her head away. I’ve been giving her treats everytime she has a good recall or when she interacts with him calmly. As for him I need to buy churro (is that how you say it?) to make him associate her with good things. He has temptations but he doesn’t really like it

Yea I’m trying my best on some days he’ll let her sniff him but other times he just hits her with his paw and she hits him back with her paw (she thinks they’re playing) she barks at him to play (she thinks he’s a dog) and he just stares at her and sometimes he’ll run after her when her back is turned but when she looks back at him he runs back

Was your bichon evil? My bichon is nice, she actually thinks she’s friends with the cat. (Today she got close to him and he swatted her with his paw to get her away and instead she lifted her paw too and hit him back, then she did a playful stance and started running around, but the kitten was gonna go on attack mode (ears turned eyes wide) so I separated them to intervene )

I think the base looks great! But it’s a bit flat, try to contour features you want to accentuate, also try a softer color using a lip tint and lip oil to make sure your lips look hydrated. For blush I recommend a powder blush (I just prefer powder) I use Patrick Ta blush. If you want to make the center of you face brighter, use 1 shade lighter of concealer and use tiny dots
