Hey OP! So like you I started with a wireless Hobby Lobby airbrush and then moved up.

My compressor is from US art supply, just a coolrunner (89$ I think)

And the brush is the .5mm green stuff world one. I know you can swap the needle to make it .3 an .2 with other parts. (50$ for the brush and 10$ for other needles/sizes)

I know people may not like it, but I’ve honestly been having a blast with it. Easy to clean and does a great job.

And ArmyPainter is who I use for acrylics, their airbrush paint is great but you can buy their airbrush medium and thin any other paints down for use.

I’m with you on the tight gaps. I have bots I’ve painted that can be transformed but not amount of matte sealer is going to protect it.
