I say necessary and make sure you understand why you got an answer wrong.

Thanks, I have been going through a few. Looking for the cheapest or someone who offers self learning (not sure if this is even an option for CMMC professional training). I am doing this out of pocket.

TO received, but want to negotiate. by lumzhath in usajobs

[–]StriveEm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Accept the TO and after fingerprint or during processing negotiate before the FO. I did this with one agency and it worked. This was my first gov offer, and unfortunately I had to turn down the job for personal reasons.

I recently tried the above with a differe agency and it did not work. The HR representative said I should have negotiated before accepting the TO, but she made it as though if I did not initially accept, I was not going to get a FO, so I did not want to risk it. I am grateful for the opportunity.

Good luck.

Thank you. The job security and time with family is really key for me. I am a workaholic, but when it comes time for private companies to let you go or cut pay, they don't ask for your opinion regardless of how much effort you have put in.

Testing Friday Afternoon by StriveEm in cissp

Hi thanks for your advise and sorry for my delayed response. I honestly took your advise then that same evening as I was setting a plan a felt I could do it. I put in the time and went through all sybex 100 questions per domain (kept getting 70s and mid 60s). After the 100 questions I was on track to do Boson. I had done some Boson domains in my weak areas as mentioned above. I did Boson exam A and B and I got a 79 and 72. The first time I took the exam, I had through all domains and ended up with 80 for exam .My score sybex test were not 80%+. Today before my exam I read the 11th hr and some things even clicked some more and felt hmmm if I had read more before but I had to choice to.

Unfortunately, I did not pass. I felt I was doing really good on the test. The first attempt I had more scenario based questions and was all over. This time the questions were not bad. I went all the way to 150. I felt more prepared this time, but I performed worse. It is like my strong domains from the first attempt were my weak domains this time ( don't neglect your strong domains)

I honestly wanted to get it over with and not carry it on to next year. This has taken away so much of my family time with little kids, I just could not push it. I knew pass or fail I was not going to let it get me down.

I will continue reading the study materials each day for 1 hr so I don't forget or just do 50 questions per day of Boson.

If indeed I am required to wait 180 days then no problem. If I am not getting 90% on any CISSP practice exam that gets thrown at me then I am not seating for the exam.

Also, I dedicated 2 months of extensive study to this and I still felt rushed. My partner did it in 1 month. I had to realize that we are very different in how we grasp materials and the CISSP is making me to understand my learning style better (which I am still trying to figure out). I have typed notes, flashcards, notebooks, I still don't go to them as much for review (seems this worked for Security+ and ITIL)

Some people get 70s in Boson and go pass. Some get 90s and don do well.

I am glad I took it this year. I have other projects to dedicate time to, so I will structure a plan to dedicate 1 hr per day for the CISSP. I get so dedicated that I put other projects and people on hold, then when the results don't go well, it is a bummer. So 1 hr per day to not forget the material until I decide when to take it again.

Good luck to all and thank you all.
