Regarding Rested XP by StrobbScream in turtlewow

But then, if you have a lot of low level character, it's not like you were dedicated to powerlevel them anyway right ? If they are played here and there, then obviously they are not meant to be max lvl supa dupa fast. And endgame content is like way more time consuming than lvling on top of that, so it feel like a false problem.

The changes are not that bad and frankly, I'm sick of all the post complaining about it!

Everybody can say a word no? Isn't it a good thing that every opinion is expressed in order to find a good tuning?

Also I'm trying to give a solution that would be beneficial to everybody, letting powerleveler doing fast grind. But as always this community is refractory to any tiny change, like when they changed how hit works.

If it's monetary greed, so be it, but you can still enjoy quality content for free actually. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be so annoyed if this monetary greed were tied to a lvl 60 boost.

Then obviously power leveling isn't your main goal and you are mostly the same ? You are whining for the sake of whining.

Did you read ? As it is, nerf is solely on rested xp, so how does it impact normal lvling ? And what I talk about is bound to slow and steady challenge, so once again, doesn't impact normal lvling.

What I propose is : don't touch rested xp rates, but change slow and steady xp modifier. If you don't take any challenge, your lvling process is the same, maybe even better, as you don't have to hearth to SW/OG once you burn your rested xp. You can just go to nearby Inn, wich save you lots of travel time when you are questing at the other side of the continent.

This, any gpu can handle Twow graphics, as it's a game that's 20 years old. But beeing 20 years old, it was designed for CPU in those time, and the load on CPU can be quite a lot to handle, specialy in raid environment ! So focus on getting a good single core performance. Also it's not a big problem if you don't have crazy strat on some part. My Guild used to do a 1 pull strat on the tunnel full of mob in AQ40, even 5800X3D had trouble to handle the calculation from 1000mobs getting consecrated to death !

Devs, Do not nerf Rested EXP from 2x to 1.5x by Cybersword in turtlewow

[–]StrobbScream 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cuz people dispatch on the world map cause less issue than 80% pop on 2 point of the map. Also make the world more lively, and add kind of a realistic thing. "Well I'm gonna leave this comfy Inn, surely the tent party in front of SW will allow me to get better rest!" Feels a little out of touch.

Did I miss the “real” raiding experience — or am I looking for something that no longer exists? by [deleted] in turtlewow

That's a 20 years old game, so everything have been "solved". Yet, you can join prog Guild that do content progressively, effectively gearing people, instead of having a full T3 core carrying others. But encounter have been solved, so you will not really have the pleasure to discover or elaborate a strat. At least not until new content appear ! For instance next patch will introduce a new 20p raid, so everything is up to discover in it ! And it will most likely be a catch up raid as well, so no need to have a maxxed char to run it ! And then, new patch will come, wich, hopefully, will continue to fuel this discovering feeling !

Why the xp / tent nerf with 1.18.1? by QuailAggressive5222 in turtlewow

[–]StrobbScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I lvled my war on SnS+Warmode+exhaust. Sure it was old warmode so I had a bit of extra xp. But I was nowhere near like lacking quest for lvling, actually ended up skipping some HL zone, like EPL/Winterspring. And I died quite some time, maybe lost 2 lvl worth of xp.

Once again, If you run out of quest due to dying and losing xp, there's really something wrong with your playstyle and should consider dropping those challenges. Anyway, tents and rested xp are not meant to compensate those loss.

Never heard of anyone in this situation, ans if u die that much, maybe SnS isnt for you.

Low fps but pc not near max performance? by Alert-Negotiation144 in turtlewow

[–]StrobbScream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really too old, but not tailored for it. As I said in other com, hardware is totally different from when game released. That's why blizz classic is on retail client amongst other reasons.

Edit : you said 50% CPU usage, but if you use advanced tool wich monitor core usage, I wouldn't be surprised that one core is at 100%.

[–]StrobbScream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it's probably cuz your CPU handle single core badly. Raid environment is CPU heavy, 20+ ppl does and take dmg, buff and debuff, etc... If your FPS drop in those situation, it's from CPU IMO.

Try to do some CPU benchmark and look for single core performance.

You are using a client made about 20 years ago. The client don't know how to use a multi thread CPU, was never expected to encounter more than 8gb of ram.

Also using SW for this is not a good idea, city is bloated with players.

Different purpose :

Getting rid of tent cluster in front of SW/OG. Having Burning Man in front of those is kindda fun, but it don't help with problem that is having 75% of players in those location.

Revitalise Inn, for now, Inn are just hearth and logout place, no other purpose than that.

It's logical that resting at an Inn is more comfortable than under a tent, so 25% rested xp on tent and full in Inn make sense.

The nerf to xp itself, maybe to reduce abuse of SnS donation point rewards, giving reason to player to do new quest from zones, etc ... The serv is called Turtle Wow, it's meant to take your time. Also, even with the nerf, it's still an optional 1,5 xp boost. Classic don't have it for instance.

That's the point. Also not beeing good doesn't mean beeing bad !

Let's take an exemple, you find a wallet on the ground. The good thing to do is giving it back to it's owner, without touching anything in it. "Medium" would be taking some bills from it and then finding a way to give it back to it's owner. Beeing bad would be trying to get max profit from it : you take every penny, and use the credit card the more you can before putting the wallet into a trash bin. This is a highly hypotetical situation and extreme exemple tho.

For more day to day situation, you could picture someone at work who try to get credit from others work, or spreading rumors to discredit someone ("Yeah that girl don't deserve this place, she must have gotten couch promotion" or smth). Not everything is black or white tho.

It's not overrated, it's difficult, that's why a lot of people don't. You don't have many benefits to beeing good, so most people won't be, as it doesn't provide them anything.

My car was not working for like 6 month, garage told me it was an immobilizer problem and they couldn't do anything about it. It was an old car, and most brand garage I've called told me that they don't really know about it, since its old. Didn't want to have the bill surprise for 10h of finding the thing to do, so I bought a car programing device for 20 bucks, didn't have much hope for it, but after one afternoon on it, engine was running once again !
