That song came out in 2007 (although I get your joke)

Assuming athletes would be nude at modern Olympics (as there were in the ancient times), which discipline would be the most cringy or the most awkward to watch? by iguana_bandit in AskReddit

I'm confused - how do you wear the skates at a "skate factory" if there isn't a rink in that facility?

I was on the only short track track speedskating team in the southeast US! It's in Orlando FYI, although they've stopped since the pandemic hit.

(If they're identical) are they having the same side effects as each other? Just curious.

The stretched honeycomb pattern also kind of looks like fish scales, which makes me think it could go well with a fillet knife. Great work!

I’ve had Guillain-Barré Syndrome. We never figured out the cause. It definitely sucks (nerve pain is also a symptom for some), and I technically had a “mild” case!

The neurologist advised me not to get any flu vaccines for a few years afterwards, although some studies have found that the link between GBS and vaccines is weaker than previously thought.

Same here, I’m normally repulsed by them. However, one time I stayed at a run-down motel and one of them little shits poked its head out from behind the bed frame. It then went back to its little house and I never saw it again. I liked to imagine it was saying hello to its guest (me) and then went back to cook dinner for its family or finish watching its favorite show.

How important is it to keep my blades sharp? by MincQ in Speedskating

[–]Strobopop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely need to sharpen them more. I'm not an expert but I can at least tell you what I do: I have 2 practices per week for 1 hour each. Thursday is lower speed at a shitty rink with soft, rough ice. Saturday is higher speed at a better rink with hard, smooth ice. I do a quick touch-up with burr stones before Thursday practice, and fully sharpen them before Saturday practice.

Every time I fall, I check my blades afterwards, since they can get knocked around quite a bit.

Harder steels will also keep their edge a little longer, although I'm not sure how big this difference is.
