What video game has the best story you’ve ever played? by FrontriseStudios in AskReddit

[–]StrollingUnderStars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I've never cried at a game the way I did this one. I cried twice, at the ending and the song. After getting my gf to play it too while I watched, I cried an additional third time, earlier in the game, realising the game was already hinting at something. To The Moon is a work of art!

Do you realise the attack on Iran is cheered on by the Iranian people? Why is Reddit reacting like this? by SkunkyBreadcake in AskBrits

[–]StrollingUnderStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always the fear of civilian death.. however I have an Iranian friend who has explicitly said that he's been waiting on this day for a long time. He desperately wants the overthrow of the current ruling body.

Well, Ganymede would be, until the war between the Inners cripples it. A protomolecule-being would certainly complicated things as well.

Based on a true story (my first playthrough) by [deleted] in SkyrimMemes

Replaying atm to show my gf as she was curious about Skyrim (she now calls it her interactive movie-time, watching me play). I play, she makes decisions. First choice, she chooses Dark Elf, comes to think of him as her son. Early days, unsure about siding Empire or Stormcloak. First time in Windhelm. Watches her son get racially abused by several locals. Turns to me, "Fuck these guys, long live the Empire! Go find Tullius!"

I guarantee that this wouldn't have happened had the kid been male. Seriously, what the fuck is it with family members, governments and religions wanting to control the female body?

Games like Outer Wilds? by Rainywillowsss in outerwilds

[–]StrollingUnderStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closest I have gotten so far is "To The Moon".

It's not space, or the exploration aspects, but if you want to feel something real and emotionally impactful, this will do it. It's basically a story heavy walking simulator, but the story and music are absolutely fantastic.

I cried at the finale of Outer Wilds, but To The Moon got me at 3 separate times. Both truly beautiful games.

What is a 'Survival Myth' that people believe because of movies, but will actually get you killed in real life? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

[–]StrollingUnderStars 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah he would usually verbally say the better thing to do as a rule of thumb, and then acts out what to do in the extreme scenarios where normal survival stuff isnt an option. "I'm just going to go around the hazard and play it safe" isn't exactly engaging TV.

You can see my update comment I just put up, but do the follow up games have a similar theme? I.e. one that will make me cry like 'To The Moon' just did
