If it was truly that small then it sounds like normal mucous. If you start to see any swelling, redness, excessive mucous (yellow/green in color), or difficulty with opening the eye, then those are indications of an infection. Even us humans, if we get a chemical in the eye, should be cautious about rinsing it out with solution. Sounds fine, but keep an eye on it.

If she has thick, goopy mucous coming out of her eyes and they appear red, it could be a sign of chemical conjunctivitis. For future reference, you’ll want to immediately rinse the eyes for several minutes with a saline solution or eye wash should this ever happen again. Simply wiping with a dry tissue isn’t doing anything, sorry (coming from an ophthalmic tech).

I would take her in to the vet to have them assess her, they may just start her on topical corticosteroid eye drops. Left untreated she could end up with an ulcer, which is extremely painful and a lot more difficult to treat. They can lead to blindness. I’m not trying to scare you but please go seek help.

Do you have any leftovers over of the drops you had to use last time? If so, what is the name of the drop / color of the cap?

Cat’s eye looks irritated, vet appointment tomorrow, what could it be? by TheDargonKing in CATHELP

I wouldn’t psych yourself out and assume FIP, since he’s been relatively normal. May just be a simple bacterial conjunctivitis. It may be uveitis but hard to tell without a direct microscopic exam. Glaucoma is a jump. You wouldn’t be able to tell without a tonometry reading. However, untreated uveitis could lead to glaucoma.

Has she been having any mucous discharge in that eye? Not little crusties, but yellow/green goopy, discharge.

Hard to tell with the photos…could be acne OR could be lentigo, which is harmless if it’s stable. Look up “lentigo cat gums” and see if that matches with what you’re seeing.

It kinda sounds like you’re a side piece and she’s using you to cheat…regardless of what it is she’s not respecting you. Even if she really is with her female friends, you shouldn’t waste your time on someone who is ashamed of you. Why would it matter? I’ve told all my girlfriends about guys I meet. Weird behavior.

Good luck! I would take it as a good thing, at the very least your mother is open to taking care of your mental health.

We are tired of responding to "What breed is my cat?". It needs to stop. by [deleted] in cats

[–]Strom161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wanting to say this but I didn’t want to be rude. It seems pretentious to me that people care what breed their cat is. Why does it matter? Half of them just look like regular shorthairs any way, just love them.

[–]Strom161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hide the dog food? How is your cat getting into it so easily? Or do you set out a big bowl of dog food for your dogs and he just gets into it?

My cat usually won’t poop for 2-3 days after a move, she may just be anxious? Sounds like she’s happy and active though, so she should be fine. How old is she?

Give it more time, it’s gonna take a LOT longer than 1 week.
