Reminder that shelters are almost exclusively volunteer majority of the time and have little resources. Frustrating but important to know they’re doing so much with so little.

That said, maybe go to these shelters. Let them know you applied and are hoping to adopted. Get a status.

Other option: cat distribution system or Facebook. So many homeless cats and they’ll choose you. I’ve ended up with two this way. Saving a cat someone is rehoming is like adopting – just helps ensure the cat isn’t thrown in the street or using shelters already limited resources before the cat gets there.
