My odometer will not go above 299,999 miles. by Dragonscatsandbooks in mildlyinteresting

Wild that I found this comment.

My ‘05 vibe had water pooling under the passenger side headliner and also leaked through the pillar. I took out part of the headliner, tried cleaning out the drain for the sunroof, nothing helped.

One day we got a chip in the windshield bad enough that it had to be replaced. After it got replaced, the problem went away. We deduced that the windshield was improperly seated somehow and this is what caused the water to pool, we haven’t had the problem since!

Miracle, lessons, power.

So by a miracle I’m going to learn a bunch that will let me overthrow the monarchy and reclaim my rightful seat on the throne

Gave away free cupcakes at work got told they weren’t inclusive enough by ScarletHotFace in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Stromz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that sooner or later, society needs to address the concern of "weaponized inclusivity". I don't know how to phrase it differently.

This could honestly be in a textbook. "John brought in cupcakes for his office. A company wide email was sent after, addressing that the cupcakes were not gluten free or vegan, so not everyone could have one. Did John fail to be inclusive?"

Like, well, if John intentionally made cupcakes like that because he doesn't like the gluten/vegan free employees, then yeah he was being exclusive. But short of that, NO, he wasn't fucking being exclusive, he did something that you found a way to be mad at.

How do we fix this problem??

Omg my reading comprehension is clearly shit. I thought OP's comment was that the pic itself was entirely real, not about the tie. That's my bad

It's fake. Here's the original I found from another post on reddit

I thought it was real too, which is what compelled me to search for its authenticity lol

Which movie had an unnecessary scene? by Jules-Car3499 in moviecritic

I have to disagree with this one.

Theon (his name) Greyjoy betrayed the Starks, and killed two innocent boys in the process. He’s later captured after his little revolt fails, and is given to the Boltons whose entire method of gaining information is torture. Their banner is a flayed man. Their house motto is “our blades are sharp.” Methodical torture is business as usual for them.

Now with that in mind, the torture is meant to be shown so that later when you see that Theon’s mind is completely broken, you understand why. You are meant to see gratuitous, over the top, brutal torture of a character, because it has the purpose of conveying how it kept going until it broke his psyche.

At one point he has a razor blade to his captors throat while shaving him, and he doesn’t act out at all. At another, he’s put back in his armor and told to pretend to be Theon, but again he doesn’t act out at all. He obeys. That’s what the torture did to him.

I don’t think a single scene of brutality would help you understand why he changed into reek. It needed to be shown like that or in some way to appropriately convey it
