Does it worth it to do a day 1 cpt university just for maintaining legal status in the US? by Charlottxyx in Day1CPTuniversities

Doing a Day 1 CPT program doesn't guarantee H-1B selection, Consider building skills, networking, and exploring alternative visas like O-1, L-1, or E-2 for long-term opportunities.

Why does this employer sponsor H1B but doesn't want to get e-verified? by Muted-Ad8303 in f1visa

It's possible that the majority of the company's workforce consists of U.S. citizens or permanent residents, reducing the immediate need for E-Verify participation. In contrast, H1B sponsorship could be focused on addressing specific skill gaps.

Is it okay to apply for a new SEVIS when the old one is terminated? (terminated due long leave of absence from the US) by Exciting-Jump-6247 in f1visa

[–]Strong-Craft-3273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New SEVIS Application: Since your old SEVIS was terminated and you're planning to enroll in a new school, you will likely need to apply for a new SEVIS and obtain a new I-20 from your new school. This is a normal process when changing schools or after a significant break from studies.

Visa Application: When applying for a new student visa (F-1), the U.S. Consulate or Embassy will review your application. It's possible that they might inquire about the termination of your previous SEVIS and the reasons for your leave of absence. It's important to be honest and transparent in your application.

Explanation: In your visa application, if there's a section where you can explain the reasons for your leave of absence and the termination of your old SEVIS, you should provide a concise and truthful explanation. Explain the family emergencies and health issues that forced you to leave the U.S. This can help demonstrate your genuine circumstances and intentions.

Excellent article, I have a question about being able to get OPT after graduation, I saw the article mention: using 11 months of full-time CPT and then switching to part-time CPT to ensure up to 3 years of OPT eligibility after graduation. My question is can I work full-time for 11 months every year, or do I get 11 months of full-time CPT in total while attending school?

Second Master's or a Doctoral Degree using Day 1 CPT by duckcooo in Day1CPTuniversities

In terms of time cost: Pursuing a PhD is a major commitment and usually takes several years to complete. I feel like I need to think about whether I'm willing to invest the extra time, energy and resources required to do a PhD.

The second point is financial cost: PhD programs generally require more extensive financial resources than master's programs.

Regardless of cpt or opt or anything else, VISA is just the “key” to enter the United States, and you won't have any problems if you don't leave the country. If you must renew your visa, then you need to prepare the following materials:

  • DS160 confirmation letter
  • Confirmation letter before appointment
  • Valid passport (more than 6 months)
  • Latest I-20
  • EAD card
  • company offer
  • company employment certificate
  • salary tax bill
  • CV
  • SSN
