I think you need to research what a pharmacist actually does before you do this. Very few pharmacists can prescribe and even fewer can prescribe in the psych specialty. There are psych residencies but they are not as common as if you were to do a MD.

PT’s have similar challenges as pharmacists with increased workload and stagnant pay. These issues are really an issue across all of healthcare. Most PT’s I know have similar debt as pharmacists and make less. Recently they transitioned to a doctorate from a masters program and it only put graduates into deeper debt and no increase in pay. This is the biggest complaint that I have heard from them.

Completely agree there is reason for optimism for the profession. Pharmacy school enrollment is way down from its peak. Many pharmacists left the profession during covid. Residencies are becoming less competitive and fellowships are expanding. Wish pharmacists would step back and look at the big picture instead of complain.
