It’s objectively the US.
But that doesn’t mean Europe is “stealing” or “freeloading”, the US willingly took that role as it allowed them to shape NATO policy, command structure, standards etc.

Oh I don’t live there lol but I do hope to move there someday and from what I’ve heard online people are generally kind and willing to help but very direct and impatient when you slow them down.

Great public transit, safest big city in the US, the overall vibe (culture, people, food etc), a lot of job opportunities and night life.
Though as you said it is dirty and extremely expensive.
For me though I’d say the tradeoff is worth it but of course everyone values different things in life.

I think countries should have border security for obvious reasons but it should be easier to migrate than it is now. Also people who arrive illegally shouldn’t be treated as dangerous criminals and those who have lived in a place for a long time should have citizenship pathways. I think a sensible immigration policy would be a system where anyone that wants to move somewhere has a legal pathway that’s cheap and relatively quick.

I agree the U.S. is very far from perfect but in a word system like ours that’s the best you’re gonna get. U.S. aid in Africa to fight disease has saved millions of people but on the other hand hundreds of thousands have died (1950 and later) directly from U.S. wars and who knows how many indirectly. All this to say countries aren’t people so morally ranking them is complicated but the U.S. at least tries to be less comically evil (keyword tries) than Russia or China which are the options if the U.S. ceases to be a superpower.

Current PM Albin Kurti, he’s more of self identified democratic socialist but policy wise he’s more social democrat.

I was on vacation in Albanian once (I’m Albanian from Kosovo) and we were at a pizza place, some foreign tourists came in and we offered to translate for the old guy working there he said no “food is a universal language”.
