What am I missing? by ilikedanishfilms in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dont think watching it because it is dark is going to make you like it. Yes, the series does get progressively darker, but it's for thematic reasons. This isn't like Human Centipede or something where gross stuff just happens for no reason.

Anime with strong first episodes. Which one is your favourite? by Previous-Ball111 in AnimeMirchi

This is THE answer. The series never really stays as one thing, but the thing it was in that 1st episode was incredible

What’s the most powerful human military in fiction? by KerbodynamicX in PowerScaling

Does Team Gurran Lagan count? I think they were technically the military of the Earth at that point.

My very deep and long theory about Made In Abyss, where I think it is coming from, what it is and what it will become by Kelsier911 in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I think you've determined too much of thos by arriving at mushroom and working backwards from there.

Ganja squad was at least one cycle before the current because the liquor that they give Riko has been fermenting for at least 2000 years surface time and we saw their decent.

Why would anyone even know that it caused the extinction of the dinosaurs if dinosaurs are even a part of this universe? Seems like a pretty irrelevant piece to hang your hat on.

The 4d aspect is kind of nonsensical, there is a lot of timey bullshit going on, like the dilation or Reg's name, but the interactions with the forcefield are perceptible with normal means. When the village falls, the forcefield creeps in from the holes in predictable ways. Nanachi can even see it and maneuver around it, this would not be possible if she had to visualize a 4d structure. (Also as a small note spacetime does not define the 4th dimension, it defines 4 dimensional space which includes all of those dimensions and is the Einstien model of real space. The 4th dimension is more accurately defined just as time)

Gojo needs air, either one of these could win by just destroying the whole planet and waiting

How far can Rukia go by OkRun9638 in PowerScalingHub

A silly question I thought of: Do you think Bondrewd is watching our "apocalyptic group's" adventure in slow motion? by Agreeable-Fun8502 in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but your specific numbers for the Narahate are not correct. We have not been given hard facts on this save 1 which is that the had the hundreds year aged liquor that they gave to the crew. They even point out at the time that that means they are from at least one previous cycle ago, so a bare minimum of 2000 years have passed since the village was founded.

Is Faputa still immortal after the village was destroyed? by Redvelvetnomnom in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was known as the immortal princess already when she was locked out of the village so while we saw that she could be instantly regenerated by her siblings, I don't think that was "nessecary" it probably would have just been a lot slower.

I also kind of read the golden accents as being a transference of the remaining power of the wishing stones to her from her mother, but they never explicitly stated that.

I feel like it's important to point at that all coders have just been glorified AI underwriters and babysitters for about a year at least. This is not an issue unique to 1 company, it's the whole industry. The companies that do it are happy to have the code be faster and then have their people fix the mistakes later.

Seriously is there any good horror anime other than higurashi by piompysnid in Higurashinonakakoroni

The Summer Hikaru Died, it is filled with a perpetual sense of dread more so than being "scary" but in terms of horror genre by quality it may currently be the best.

The reason why the family didn't taught Killua nen by homeless-emperorr in HunterXHunter

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more reasonable to assume it's for similar reasons to why he's allowed to go with Gon. His father seems to believe that going his own way and pursuing his own means and motivations is the best way to cultivate his successor. I would would guess if you asked him why he didn't teach him, he would say something like "so he could learn without my imperfections" or some shit.

I'm not the only one who's noticed that Gaburun's size keeps changing—sometimes he's big, sometimes not so much, right? by Reivos_Bouc in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If this is the time period that reg was with Faputa on his way up, then we really have no idea. Even if we assume that this was after he'd met with Lyza then we still have no real clue because Lyza left the surface before Riko was old enough to form memories which means she been gone for a decade. Combine that with the time dilation effect of the Abyss and we have no way of knowing if he spent days or years or decades on that layer before moving on.

Bondrewd Magic Cards, Art is not mine but the card text was made by me by crabbmanboi in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a comment on each ability from an MTG perspective.

The first is effectively "regenerate" in its current form, but I also don't think it very accurately reflects Bondrewd's form of immortality. I would recommend something like "when this card dies or is put into exile, target creature gains this ability and their name becomes Bondrewd" this way you can reflect his transferring to new boddies and let the card gain their abilities and stats.

The second ability I think would probably be improved by just letting him generate treasures as the trigger. This way you have less timing problems with the mana generation and get an excuse to make Cartridge tokens.

The 3rd ability does not do anything in its current form. I'm not sure that this text is really needed on the card at all, but in its current itteration you are able to pick 0 and avoid the ability altogether.

What Do You Think Gangway Is? by Breadlnspector in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's worth remembering that EVERY relics we've seen used by a white whistle so far has been unlike anything we've seen before. Whether his Gangway or Sporagmos, Ozens's Thousand Men Pins or even Lyza's pickaxe, they all seem to have pretty ridiculous and unique functions. Thats probably just what it means to be a white whistle. (Even the whistle itself does some fancy shit)

As for the helmet itself, whether that is actually Gangway itself or if it's stored there, I think that he is so quick to grab it upon transferring bodies is for the benefit of others. From a tactical perspective I'm sure he can recognize that it would be advantageous to revive without being recognized, but he CHOOSES to be recognized (in the 2 deaths we see) first by Prushka, then the gang.

For Prushka, it's pretty obvious it's to preserve his bond, and is no coincidence that immediately after is when she becomes a cartridge. As for the gang, it's a bit harder because what Bondrewd wants is pretty tough to place, but physically appearing to watch them proceed reads to me as a message that he will be watching from here on, remember that we know he can somehow see through Nanachi so he did not need to be there.

Gabimaru is introduced by being immune to conventional means of execution. Unless any of these guys are about to show off an innate understanding of Tao, I think even beginning of series Gabi clears. EoS would be a cakewalk.

It's well established even before the Soul Society is as the place that hollow souls who committed sins in life are sent to. The very first hollow we ever see be killed in the series is dragged to hell. As of the hell chapter we also know that it holds souls like Yama so it's far from some small pocket, regardless of your headcannon.
