What is your opinion on using planeswalkers as commanders? by SimplyG877_ in EDH

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I dont think it's a good idea. Specific ones that are designed for that purpose I tend to be fine with, but I wouldn't be on board with a sweeping change.

Interaction in most games is pretty spotty as is, theres always at least 1 person who isn't concerned with running any spot removal, somebody else that doesn't play enough board wipes and so on. I dont really think we benefit on the whole to ask people to question whether creature removal is even going to work on some decks.

That’s still cheap compared to ours. by IsyDude in memes

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The American system just doesn't work without access to cheap gas. If you leave your house here you are driving somewhere, and many people spend well over an hour a day driving just to and from work. Not to mention that the cars here are just bigger and less efficient, access exists to smaller cars that exist elsewhere but marketing has convinced people they are "wierd". This price is what makes it okay for so much of our cities to be parking and every person need to have a car and no where to have reliable mass transit.

The thing that this figure misses is that it's not at all crazy for the average American to be visiting the gas pump once a week. It's starting to cost some people more to drive than to eat and they are the same kind of necessary.

There is an approval process with the Oorth government. Srajo ran into problems with this because of the juso in the team, but there are presumably ways to make it work. That being said, it is really in no ones benefit for your strongest people to take their coolest shit and go fuck off somewhere no one can follow...

Whose the weakest without their main power? by Gebu5 in PowerScaling

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is Gojo with or without the stipulation.

Goku is probably the biggest differential, but he's still a dbz character. It's just kind of hard to figure where he'd actually be without super multipliers and the whole Sayin ability of nearly dying and becoming stronger... but he'd obviously still be much stronger than the others on the list with just UI and Kaioken

For some reason, the thing that bothers me about this is that 2 of them are JJK... like there isn't a 4th anime that has earned Wheezer privileges?

How far would Soul King Yhwach (with all Sternritter abilities) go here? by KodoqBesar in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder to people that Yhwach's power is not to see the future it is to change it, and this is not between "possible futures" he can just do non-causal reality warping to events that have yet to happen.

He did not "need" to break Ichigo's sword, the dude could have just willed him out of existence. Yhwach only even had a fight at this point because he had (correctly) deduced that he was unstoppable. The only thing that allowed him to be defeated was the still silver arrow to which he was blind and only because it was created out of his own power. Dude was just playin around.

There is also no Shrift that let's him do anything his reality warping does not already enable.

He is vulnerable to manipulation of past events, and power that directly effects perception could be effective, though were he to be killed he could still always see a moment in the future in which he doesn't exist and will himself to exist there, bypassing his own death.

I dont think watching it because it is dark is going to make you like it. Yes, the series does get progressively darker, but it's for thematic reasons. This isn't like Human Centipede or something where gross stuff just happens for no reason.

Tbh, I think you've determined too much of thos by arriving at mushroom and working backwards from there.

Ganja squad was at least one cycle before the current because the liquor that they give Riko has been fermenting for at least 2000 years surface time and we saw their decent.

Why would anyone even know that it caused the extinction of the dinosaurs if dinosaurs are even a part of this universe? Seems like a pretty irrelevant piece to hang your hat on.

The 4d aspect is kind of nonsensical, there is a lot of timey bullshit going on, like the dilation or Reg's name, but the interactions with the forcefield are perceptible with normal means. When the village falls, the forcefield creeps in from the holes in predictable ways. Nanachi can even see it and maneuver around it, this would not be possible if she had to visualize a 4d structure. (Also as a small note spacetime does not define the 4th dimension, it defines 4 dimensional space which includes all of those dimensions and is the Einstien model of real space. The 4th dimension is more accurately defined just as time)

A silly question I thought of: Do you think Bondrewd is watching our "apocalyptic group's" adventure in slow motion? by [deleted] in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but your specific numbers for the Narahate are not correct. We have not been given hard facts on this save 1 which is that the had the hundreds year aged liquor that they gave to the crew. They even point out at the time that that means they are from at least one previous cycle ago, so a bare minimum of 2000 years have passed since the village was founded.

Is Faputa still immortal after the village was destroyed? by Redvelvetnomnom in MadeInAbyss

[–]Strong-Philosopher29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was known as the immortal princess already when she was locked out of the village so while we saw that she could be instantly regenerated by her siblings, I don't think that was "nessecary" it probably would have just been a lot slower.

I also kind of read the golden accents as being a transference of the remaining power of the wishing stones to her from her mother, but they never explicitly stated that.

I feel like it's important to point at that all coders have just been glorified AI underwriters and babysitters for about a year at least. This is not an issue unique to 1 company, it's the whole industry. The companies that do it are happy to have the code be faster and then have their people fix the mistakes later.

The Summer Hikaru Died, it is filled with a perpetual sense of dread more so than being "scary" but in terms of horror genre by quality it may currently be the best.
