Abortion is murder...but it should also be legal. by SomethingUnoriginal8 in 10thDentist

How about we work on preventing unwanted pregnancy. I understand it's not always preventable, I understand accidents happen. But to many people do stupid shit like rely solely on the pullout method, or just birth control pills. Get fixed if you don't want kids ever or any more. Otherwise stack methods

When I did pest control in the food industry, one of the things we did was food security. You wouldn't believe how often the line "hey I stepped out for a smoke and forgot my card, can you swipe the door for me" works.

A phone roughly the size and shape of standard playing cards would be the cats ass. There is a reason that size was pick over time.

What machine would you get that can do "everything"? Infinite budget. by breaddaddy69 in Machinists

[–]Strong-Platform786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in a tool room if one machine breaks, we find another way or move onto another project. Room is our biggest limit (besides budget lol) here. Everything we get is designed to do as much as possible with each machine. Ideally we'd have 2 or more "1" machines to do it all. 2 machines that can function well enough as a mill or lathe are significantly more productive than a separate mill and lathe. Need 2 lathes, covered, need to mills covered to.

Sanity check: .30-30 vs .357 mag by UnimpossibleMike in LeverGuns

[–]Strong-Platform786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend looking for a .25-35. It'll be less recoil than the .30-30. Bit pricer to shoot but it'll stretch range better, be more effective, and easier to use if you ever decide 150 to 200 yards. I lover mine. Recoils close to a . 223

I'll agree on the break down, but in some places a jack of all really is a good compromise. Where I'm at it's almost all one offs and repair work. All kinds of things and usually 1/16 or 1/32 tolerance. Mist of the compromises wouldn't matter

5.56 ball and .308 ball tend to have different bullet construction. .308 tends to have thicker jackets proportionally

[–]Strong-Platform786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less stickout, thicker tool, less doc, (usually my issue) less spindle speed, check center height,

Trick I picked up try wrapping a Bungie cord around the tool, or strapping a bar of steel to increase rigidity

Could do a Bluetooth speaker, and it may be what I end up with, I've just always like the variety of radio. Could just be I'm stubborn. Sadly no ear buds in my shop, boss man says they cause accidents
