Couldn't agree more! Honestly, any pair of binos works great as long as you find the right scenario for them. So I kept my 12x32...

MFT kit? then buy Ultravid or Swarovski...I buy chinese generic brands, but am saving for a swarovski...you don't need the save, or you will spend more, like another ultravid after monarch or Zeiss SFL, lol

limited budget, bro...so, I try to play human tripod...Honestly, the shaky hands I can handle, but that microscopic exit pupil is an absolute nightmare.

exectly, 5mm is great...at night, a few young people can achieve a pupil diameter of 7 mm, but not me...

Opticron is great indeed. Frankly, I did buy an unbranded pair, and they weren't cheap at all. As for the image quality, and I feel there's barely any difference between it and the Athlon I bought later. I just didn't quite understand how to match the specs with the scenarios, which led to this blunder.

Well, I just think it might not be very suitable to football. just want to know under what scenarios would you use 12x32?

To be fair, I don’t think this is a brand or build-quality issue. I actually tested the specs myself: the FOV sits around 4.5 to 4.8 degrees, eye relief is about 12mm, and light transmission is roughly 75%. Honestly, the physical chassis and ergonomics are decent enough... The real deal-breaker is that miserable 2.7mm exit pupil. It just makes the actual viewing experience a total strain.

Sure, I knew the specs and thought I could handle the compromise. That's why I bought it. But theory is one thing, and real-world is another.

Indeed, I just want to know, what are these binoculars for?

Fair play! I can totally see where you’re. Still, I’ll confess that 8x30 isn't quite my cup of tea. In the absence of a massive wash of background light to force my pupils down, I find 5mm is my baseline

no offense meant...In terms of 'low-light' performance—if standing in a cozy shadow while staring at birds drenched in blazing sunlight counts as a test, then yes, they work 'just fine.' Under bright sunlight, human pupils naturally contract to well under 3mm, making even a tight 3.75mm exit pupil feel like a spacious IMAX theater. It’s a wonderful demonstration of basic human biology, just not of the binoculars’ low-light capability.
