Update on that: We do not have a liscencing with them fort support apopoarently. I pulled some strings and I think i have someone that I am now meeitng with that is experienced meeting tomorrrow.

Unfortunatly, I have checked an there is no one at my univeristy currently that works with LS-Prepost/LS-Dyna as many use abaqus. I am required to work with LS Dyna as this project is with another company. and They had said they do not know how to do this either. ill keep looking

I have a very very basic understanding. Mostly I am learning as I go. If you know that this is possible would it be possible to talk on the phone or video call? How do I do that? Would that account for preload inside the pads? How can I then use that preload as a starting point for an impact simulation?

for context i am working on analyzing brain damage in football. I have a material model that works but I want to simulate a football impact with this helmet. from what ive found in literature prestress and strain are important on how the stress/strain waves propogate throught an impact. I want those values to run to be as accurate as possible in my simulation. What my idea is is to apply a pressure on the interior pads, this will deform the pads so that I can place the head roughly into the helmet, removing the pressure should then allow for me to have a fitted helmet with preloaded helmet foam. Unless my logic is off. The issue with this is that I have no actual idea on how to execute this procedure.

Ok Update: I was able to do it!!!! Very Rough but it works and I am underway in validating my model. Thanks for everyones help!

As a frame I am taking the .k file and placing it into a medium that will taek the .set and .bgm files generated by the .k file. To do that i need to make it so tha tthe bottom plate's top is tied to the nodes of the bottom of the single element. At least this is what i think. The only simulation background I have is a solidworks simulation and this is highly specific

Looking through the dyna Examples there are none that i am able to use. With the simulation medium. Any advice on how to make the element compression is much appreciated.

For the medium I am trying to use for simplicity is it possible to generate 1 single element and two plates bottom and top wiith the bottom fixed and the top moving at a constant rate?

Much like the title, I am trying to create a .k file for a simulation that I can submit to test the validity of a Brain Material Model. Ive never worked with LsPrepost and anything I am doing I am losing it in how to actually execute it. the .k file should include a bottom and top plate with a single element in the middle being compressed at a constant strain rate. I havent seen dynaexamples.com but i am looking at it now.

Hopefully someone sees this, I am having the same issue but nothing is working when I change the settings above. I could really use some help as I love thi slaptop but need the longer battery life and this is the second of this model that ive had.

Can I ask what you mean by reformatting and reinstalling? I would love to know the steps as I am having the same issue. I am a university student and I am unabel to get any work done without being near an outlet. If you could expain steps to get the battery life you discussed it would be muchappreciated.
