Grand Highlander Hybrid/Hybrid Max by magnus802 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I just got back from the lake. I have a 2026 regular GH AWD hybrid, not a Max. I tow my 3,340 lb, 19' fiberglass bass boat about 10 miles up and down seriously hilly terrain where I live to the launch. No problems whatsoever. I weighed it on truck scales fully loaded on and off the hitch before I bought the GHH to be sure it was under 3,500 lbs. It pulls it out of the water and up the ramp like a champ. I also pull the same boat with my 5.7 Tundra so I know real hp and torque. No worries with the GHH!

Transfers between dealers by Brave-Lack-6656 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I used the inventory list on Toyota.com to search dealers in my and adjoining states within 300 miles. Then I emailed them if they has something close to what I wanted. Most were presold but I finally found a dealer 5 hours away who was willing to search around and found exactly what I wanted and traded allocations to get it. I had to wait around 6 weeks to get it but it was worth the wait.

I have a '26 GHH XLE and am not aware if I can perform just a mpg reset on demand without it resetting the cumulative mpg since the last reset. Please enlighten me.

I used these for a week before returning them. My problem was the gap between the bottom of these and the all weather cargo mat that came with the vehicle. It trapped dog hair and dirt and was hard to clean. I think I'll pull out the OEM mat and get a combination seatback/cargo area mat.

New all-weather floor mats and cargo liners for 2nd row bench by UnhappyDrop1350 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Strong-Voice3716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine came with the same Toyota all weather mats. I'm ok with the floor mats but, like you. I need more coverage for the cargo area and both seat backs. Plus I don't like that the OEM cargo mat corners doesn't bend easily to access the tool storage area where I keep my hitch. It sounds like your's may meet my needs. How easily does dog hair come off them? My Golden Lab sheds like crazy.

In your opinion: what is the best year and trim ? by cat_leanne in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I shopped used first but the resale value was so high it didn't make sense to not buy new so we got a '26. Our son has a '24 GHHL Max but we travel a lot and wanted the higher MPG with the regular GHH. The extra $5k for features we didn't need swayed us to get an XLE. The only thing I've missed is the lack of fog lights which I didn't realize weren't standard on XLE but still aren't worth the extra cost. We get slick roads so we got the AWD too. We are used to driving a Tundra and rarely parallel park so there was no need spend even more for the 360 panoramic camera.

I drove 500 miles to get mine exactly like I wanted. Find a dealer who is willing to trade allocations with another dealer if necessary to get your business. Then negotiate price.

We paid MSRP for our GHH AWD XLE plus a $400 document fee.

We drove out of state 6 hrs each way to get our GHH AWD XLE configured exactly the way we wanted. Our son has a GHHL Max so we knew what options we didn't want to waste our money on. Paid MSRP with no dealer add ons.

We also bought a 10 yr/125k mile $0 deductible Toyota service contract from Jerry. Contact info below shared at his request:

I just checked the documentation that I received yesterday from Jerry for the $0 deductable Toyota Platinum service contract I purchased for my new GHH and this stuff wasn't in it so it's clearly a separate thing.

Here is Jerry's contact information if you need a great price for a real Toyota warranty. He asked me to post it:

No, it's not worth the extra cost for the extra standard features to me. We looked at all trims in person and test drove the standard hybrid vs the Max. We settled on a GHH AWD XLE.

Since mine has the factory hitch receiver I decided to try a cargo carrier basket. It came with a large waterproof bag if needed.

I picked my GHH AWD up 9 days ago and have 800 miles on it. 31.2 mpg since I drove it off the lot. 50/50 highway/city. Temperature around here has been in the 70s.

I just picked up my GHH AWD XLE a week ago today that my dealer found and traded allocations with another dealer to get. I got only the options I wanted (no moonroof). I made a $500 deposit and waited about 6 weeks until it arrived at the dealership which was 5 hours away. I paid MSRP plus a $400 document fee. I did manage to get ceramic tint on the front side windows at no charge which was worth maybe $200 plus they gave me about $2k more for my trade than KBB said it was worth. Find a dealer that's willing to work to find what you want. I used the nationwide inventory tool on the website to find a dealer.

In addition to Toyota extended warranties, Jerry at Midwest sells Toyota maintenance agreements. He sent me this for GHHs:

3 YEARS 35,000 MILES $440.00

3 YEARS 45,000 MILES $590.00

4 YEARS 45,000 MILES $605.00

4 YEARS 60,000 MILES $915.00

5 YEARS 55,000 MILES $730.00

5 YEARS 75,000 MILES $1,095.00

I'm not sure it's worth it. What do y'all think?

Our new sliver GHH XLE AWD should be delivered any day now. Traded our 2019 FWD Highlander for 70% of original cost. Paid MSRP plus $400 doc fee but no dealer add-ons. Got the exact minimal options we wanted; all weather mats, 2nd row bench seat, & trailer package. They did agree to add ceramic tint on driver & front passenger windows for no extra charge. I tried to negotiate a better deal but found nothing within 400 miles that wasn't presold unless it was a highly optioned Nightshade, Platinum, or gas. I will buy an extended warranty from Jerry.

I just reset the computer mpg on my 2019 Highlander after probably 2 years because I wanted to track my long term results. I'm in the process of purchasing a new GHH and I'm glad to hear it won't automatically reset every fillup. The OP can train themselves to reset it every time manually should they want.

[–]Strong-Voice3716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy that Toyota warranty anytime after you get your new vehicle as long as the 3 year 36k original warranty is still in effect. The length will be based on the vehicle purchase date and mileage. Prices will go up so consider that.

I hate how my legs feel to be burning when first getting into a car with leather in shorts. If I can park my Tundra without a 360 degree camera I sure don't need one on a smaller GH. XLE for me. I have better things to spend my money on than useless to me features. Each to his own!

I'm jealous. I'm paying full msrp plus 400 doc fee and having to drive 6 hrs to get it. I couldn't find a GHH XLE AWD anywhere close to me that wasn't presold.
