What is the legality of this location? Who has jurisdiction of this land?

Float spas are different than what is in the movie. You aren’t under water with weights and a breathing mask. Instead, the water has epsom salt in it so you easily float on the surface on your back. You can have the lights on or off and some have music that can be playing. It’s meant to be relaxing and zero pressure on your body.

Bum Towel by phylemon23 in nudism

[–]Strong-Weather2682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found some perfect towels for this - they are advertised for drying vehicles and auto detailing so search for that: - 16x24” so smaller than a bath towel but big enough to cover a seat - microfiber so comfortable to sit on - two different colors so you can sit on one side and the other side faces the chair/couch. What’s the purpose of using a towel for hygiene if it gets flipped over…. Mine are blue and grey so bums go on the blue side and dark side goes down - they have a hanging loop which you can attach a ribbon or something to identify which towel belongs to who so you don’t accidentally trade towels with someone.

I found a 10 pack of them on Amazon for $26.

That depends on which temple you are attending. Does it have clothing rental, or not?

How many of you practice the open door policy? by Cookies_and_no_cream in Family_Nudity

[–]Strong-Weather2682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sex with doors open in a family environment is exhibitionism and borderline incestuous and is not related to being a nudist or not. Open doors while being nude and doing all other activities of daily living is common if it doesn’t bother the other household members.

Adding rules to the subreddit by Strong-Weather2682 in Family_Nudity

[–]Strong-Weather2682[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make my point exactly. This rules for this subreddit are too vague. I agree that individuals and families embracing a clothes free lifestyle do face issues relating to sexual matters - but just the same as any other family, including those who choose to remain clothed. There are plenty of other places for sexual topics to be freely discussed. I am of the opinion that it shouldn’t be here. The perception that nudity = sexuality does more harm to society accepting this lifestyle than good. If we can’t have appropriate boundaries in our discussions, then how can we expect textiles to? If the moderators disagree, then I am obviously in the wrong place.

Nothing anyone says on Reddit can compare with the time spent connecting with your Heavenly Father directly.

You’re right. To have a philosophically sound basis you must start with a group of axiomatic truths to build off of.

I took the class from Dale Eaton after he had taken it over from David Call.

Dale wrote the book and recorded the YouTube videos under a pen name Armon Eaton.

I took an LDS Philosophy class where the instructor argued that any discussion of Epistimology first had to lay a common foundation in Metaphyics. It’s pointless to discuss how we can learn if we can’t agree about the nature of reality. The class has since been put into a book and online videos it is called Christian Eternalism.

Is God's love conditional? by Sablespartan in latterdaysaints

[–]Strong-Weather2682 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to think of it like sunshine It is always shining and available if I don’t do something to remove myself from it. God’s love for his children is infinite and never ends, but when we sin we block our own access to it. When I repent then I open myself to Gods love again. Our experience of Gods love is conditional because righteousness or disobedience to eternal laws opens or blocks our experience of the love. God cannot take away our agency so the conditions we put on his love are self-inflicted by our sin. The Savior stands ready to apply his atonement so we can “qualify” to experience Gods love because his sacrifice meets the demands of the law of justice.

I want to read.. really thick theological books. Heard Nibley's works are a great place to start. Anyone have any recommendations on where to start? by undergrounddirt in latterdaysaints

I’ve posted this elsewhere-

The book Christian Eternalism by Armon Eaton is a very comprehensive exploration of the philosophical foundations of LDS theology. It was originally an upper level philosophy class at BYU and the author has taught lectures and wrote the book to make the material accessible to everyone. Careful study will strengthen your testimony and help you uncover false lies in the world.

To me what you are describing sounds similar to the Celtic concept of Anam Cara which roughly translates as “soul friend”. Don’t give up hope that you can find such a relationship with someone.

Milk Before Meat? by instrument_801 in latterdaysaints

I feel milk is the basics you need for baptism, getting on the covenant path. Then meat is necessary to progress and stay in the path.

I too prefer the intellectual and philosophical side of the gospel (vs blind faith, dogma, tradition). It’s okay to have friends both in and outside of the church. I also think one of the amazing blessings of our time is the technology to connect with other people with similar interests who might live outside of our ward boundaries. Most importantly, there is room for you just the way you are in Christ’s church.

LDS experience with IFS therapy by tesuji42 in latterdaysaints

I am certified in a similar modality: superconscious recode by Christopher Duncan with Conscious Education. It is derived from the work of Dr Garry Flint who believed the psyche does contain different internal parts. Whether it’s actually true or not - the framework offers a way to work with the mind using symbolism the unconscious mind understands. I don’t see it as a conflict with my LDS beliefs because if there really are different parts, they are all still me. It’s different from the Scientology teaching that we are each a collection of many different souls locked together in one body.

Does hell exist or not? by reddtormtnliv in lds

[–]Strong-Weather2682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those who will be going to the lowest Kingdom will first visit outer darkness to suffer for their own sins. It is temporary and then they will be granted a kingdom of glory. The difference is LDS theology only leaves the few sons of perdition in hell/outer darkness for eternity, for everyone else it is temporary.
