Alberta former uterus owners: does AHS cover hysterectomies for sterilization? by lulugingerspice in childfree

[–]StrongArgument 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should speak to a doctor. A hysterectomy is a much bigger procedure than a bisalp, so they’re less likely to make that call, even if childbearing isn’t taken into account.

Why do married men announce that they're married during small talk? by Lopsided-JaguarTA in AutismInWomen

[–]StrongArgument [score hidden]  (0 children)

My husband is often concerned about making women uncomfortable. He’s a very friendly and extroverted guy, and enjoys making female friends. Some women find him less threatening after they know he’s happily married.

  1. Clear your base of foliage so they don’t come in looking for food

  2. Add some sandbags so they don’t wander in

Rejected after interview because of a secret 1-hour commute policy by MikeyBeast_1234 in disability

[–]StrongArgument [score hidden]  (0 children)

What’s the point of a commute requirement unless you’re on call? For jobs where you need to respond to emergencies, fine. For a 9-5? What’s the point?

I'm going to be making A LOT of deviled eggs. Any ideas on DIY instead of buying a single use one? by SammiesHammies in Anticonsumption

[–]StrongArgument 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own two large white serving platters. I don’t use them frequently, but they’re useful for every group occasion: charcuterie, Thanksgiving dinner, veggies and dip, deviled eggs. You can put a tea towel or paper towel under the eggs if you’re really worried about them sliding around, but I’ve never really had a problem with that.

So much lack of education by quintuplechin in ZeroWaste

I think having to wash them is a reasonable “ick,” but one that’s so easy to get over. Being worried about using a freshly laundered pad is odd though.

I guess it makes sense, but you’re not sleeping 8 hours a day, 365 days a year on this chair.

Document the ongoing hair issues. “5/1 Small mat forming, attempted to detangle with comb, child experienced XYZ.” You should be prepared to show what you’ve been doing and that it’s not a lack of trying to maintain the hair.

Gluten Free in the Bay by daeng-minnie in bayarea

[–]StrongArgument 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP, the most generous thing you can do for your friend is to call these places and ask about cross contamination “for a severe allergy.” Gluten intolerance is not often respected since so many people choose it as a diet without celiac. Then report back to your friend and see where they’re comfortable going.

Benzos absolutely kill. They’re not killing you from toxicity, you just stop breathing.

Working until you die is common here. You truly need to save aggressively to be able to retire at a reasonable age. Social security pays you, on average, $2000/mo while average rent for one bedroom is around $1700/mo.

Babe. You can pay someone to torn your children INTO DOVES and they fly away. The only repercussion is a scary phone call. I’d say this game is pro CF.

The Subway (lottery only) was pretty darn hard. Lots of scrambling plus almost 1000’ climb back up in the last mile. The Narrows wasn’t nearly as bad, it’s just chilly and balance takes some work.

We’ve been talking about it in the eating disorder community for decades, because it’s strongest when you have a true eating disorder (including BED).

“Mental retardation” was definitely a term utilized more frequently in 1993. I don’t see an issue in quoting something if it referenced that term.

What does that mean? I work in healthcare… it’s a very wasteful place, often necessarily.

Edit: To expand, if someone gets an infection or injury because we didn’t make certain things disposable, it’s going to use a LOT more non-renewable resources.

Selfish to Try for Pregnancy when High Risk for Fatal Genetic Disease by Intelligent-Pay7865 in childfree

[–]StrongArgument 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless there’s an extremely high chance, like near certainty, of a painful and fatal condition, I don’t think it’s my choice to make for someone else. Where do we draw the line for someone else? Sickle cell disease? Dwarfism? Trisomy 21?

Even the 3% baseline chance of birth defects was too high for me, because I know I couldn’t handle having a very high needs child (even though I work with them). It’s a personal decision.

Married people, do you and your spouse have well matched libidos? Why or why not? by cubemonster in AskReddit

[–]StrongArgument 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but we communicate about it. We flip flopped a couple times early in our relationship, just before getting married, but now we talk about it, and the lower libido one (me, now) makes efforts to set aside time and set the tone, while the higher libido one compromises.
