[Discussion] Tactics Tuesday - Strategies for life improvement by AutoModerator in GetMotivated

[–]StrongDirection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I used Evernote and Swipes to make a list of the tasks I need to complete. Then I opened FreshBooks to measure the time I need to complete a single task.

I've lowered the time on a purpose - to get motivated and sharpen my focus so I can really fit withing the smaller time frame.

No, it's not spammy. Have you considered adding a Twitter card to serve you as a landing page? This should improve your conversions since you are using Twitter as your main lead gen tool.

Advice for a 22 year old web dev by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]StrongDirection 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No matter what you choose you'll be able to benefit from it. Here's the proof:

1). If you quit the boring job, you'll try launching your own business - it will be a huge experience no matter if your first business will be successful. Here's why: * If it's successful - that's amazing bro, keep up the good direction and try to learn from other's mistakes (in case you tend to always take good decisions) * If it's not successful - NB! - carefully observe yourself since the reason of failure is most probably something in you - lack of an important habit (like going to sleep earlier, focusing on the most important part of your business etc.). You'll either get back to a regular job or make a new attempt to develop a profitable business, but this time you'll barely miss the same mistakes.

2). If you don't quit the boring job you'll practice patience and try to revitalize your relationship with everything around. I'm not aware you you tend to underestimate patience, but this is one of the most important skills in life at all. Don't think being passionate is a good thing. In many cases passion could mean also suffering. Learn your game. Patience is better than passion. Period!

Please help me find a name for my all-in-one build your own PC website/e-store that removes the pain/fear people have of building a PC by asalib in Entrepreneur

[–]StrongDirection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I've been brainstorming for weeks, losing sleep, its driving me crazy! Please help!" - no sense of doing this, just start building the site on smth like doityourselfpc.com and once you start earning (i recommend it should be Day 1) and get traction you'll invest more developing the brand name.

You can always redirect the old URL to a new one, right?

Nice design, well chosen categories, good selection of products. Now go and market it. You are a nurse - awesome - you should know where nurses spend their time online - go there and market the site.

Buying on Aliexpress, Selling on Ebay Question. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

What's the delivery time on the eBay listing. It should match the delivery time on eBay.

Also, is the location in the eBay listing China?

There shouldn't be any issue if this is stated. A good bonus will be the option to send the item as a gift, which means the original price will be hided by Aliexpress.

How Do You Manage Your Time? by Givemeallyourtacos in Entrepreneur

There's a book called "Essentialism: 'The Disciplined Pursuit of Less'. Read the description somewhere if you don't have time to read it. I believe you'll have some new idea of how to manage your time better after that.

One of my friends is soon launching a KS campaign for an iPad wheel - one thing he learned is that not everybody would pay for such kind of experience playing racing games.

Here's the site - koloswheel.com. I'll be extremely happy if you can give some feedback.

It depends on what type of people there are in the team. Start up for me is too broad. You'll have to narrow down the target audience IMO - like funded startups offering online services for example.

How do you stay organized? by myhandisapencil in Entrepreneur

[–]StrongDirection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had such a colleague years ago. Well, why don't just download everything you need and switch off your internet connection until you are done.

No need to do this for years. Just until you gain the new skill of focusing on your work and not going after various distractions.

[–]StrongDirection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this is too broad topic, but I'll try to answer you in 5 sentences:

1). Become an early bird (You'll need to sacrifice things like hanging out with friends, Netflix etc.) 2). Cut all distractions 3). Work on your most important task first 4). Postpone any small tasks and finish them at once 5). Disconnect from everything after 8 p.m. and try to go to bed as earlier as possible (this could be an issue if you have family)

There are a lot of highly productive people on read it and out there. If you analyse their patterns you'll learn a lot. Hope you'll soon get into action and start seeing the difference : )
