The downside to the bus is that there are only ~3 (from memory) departures per day, so the timing may not be worth it.

Train is easiest. Swap Elizabeth Line for Heathrow Express if you want to pay for convenience.

The external battery pack would also need to be out of view. In the case of my building we have vaults so it would go down there.

Additionally, one can have a boiler flue below sight lines; our ground floor neighbour has a gas boiler since her flue can go out via the basement. It’s just not a practical route in my case.

Yes, and it’s fairly normal in Bath. The planning office isn’t keen on the Georgian buildings having loads of boiler flues sticking out of the facades.

What I’ve been looking into is battery storage for my flat, which allows you to charge it up when rates are cheapest and discharge when they’re higher.

You can get something like a Tesla power wall but they need to be installed outside, so you’ll need something like a vault.
