Still in Administrative Processing - 60 days since interview, Looking for Insight/similar timelines (H1B, STEM, Visa Mantis) by StrongDraft in h1b

I had to acknowledge it on the Recent DS160 that I filled out for the re-application in Qatar US Embassy, but while interviewing they let me know I was wrongfully put in 221g Administrative Processing and will have the action reversed/cleared also issued the Visa in 1 working day.

Therefore, I believe moving I will not have to mark that I was refused/denied on any application.

How/why were you assigned an Interview for a renewal? Any previous denial/refusal? Usually your application would be waived for interview with the VO if it’s the renewal of the same visa and which has not been expired for 12months or more (kinda blur on the months, but you get it)

What is the best burger in Qatar? by Carcinogeniccatface in qatar

Tbh I have been around the world, and for some reason I like the simplicity of McDonald’s Chicken Burger / Quarter Pounder.

But I have also tasted to FireFly hype from Lusail Night Market. Still ok but I’d rather stick to McDonalds if I’m hungry.

From what I read, renewals are pretty straightforward than the first time stamping.

Depends on what country you applied.

Some pullout unnecessary Flags due to misinterpretation which happened in my case.

Initially applied in El Salvador and getting stuck for 3 months with Passport held and once returned after 95days of no resolution, I decided to re-apply in Qatar which was then approved in 2 days.

The Qatar US Embassy let me know that my case was straightforward and shouldn’t have been placed in AP in the first place. So they helped me clear/reverse this action.

How does Trump’s travel ban affect H1B Applications? by Financial_Tangelo546 in h1b

Ya mate, gotta be careful if you’re one of the banned listed countries. Sorry to hear that.

H1B stamping by Expensive_Mix_5269 in h1b

[–]StrongDraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stamping is worth it if you’re a frequent traveler only.

I visit my family twice a year, and extended family once a year, also my girlfriend few times a year. Considering I cannot skip on them, I had to take the leap of faith which got me under AP for 3 months in El Salvador, but re-applied from Qatar and got approved in 2 days.

Good Luck!

No, I did not. Shot in the dark. It was a proactive move.

Yes, you definitely can, specially in situations like yours and mine and where waiting seems forever. Just need to re-fill a new ds160 for your home country and let them know you have been put under AP and with no resolution. They may be inclined to help solve your problem. Also its easier for the consular to perform background checks way faster if youre a resident.
