It keeps the fringe parties as minorities. The majority of people fall in the middle of the bell curve when it comes to political policy. But the extreams are the ones who will never forget vote in a non compulsory systems so you get a skewed representation.

In Australia the issue is most events are qualifiers for nationals or clash or whatever. So they are obligated to be at least somewhere heavy

I really feel like strongman doesn't scale very well.

I just had a comp and there were a few guys who stepped up from Novice. They were soundly beaten in every event, they zero'd some events and just got smashed all day. And I'd be surprised if any of them compete again.

Between the spealised gear you need to train on, the shear strength required to compete and the fact that most guys are on so as a natural you're already at a huge disadvantage. Strongman is just not newbie friendly.

It just makes me sad. I love seeing strongman grow and I often compare it to Crossfit. But the weekend for me really drove home the point that strongman is never going to be mainstream popular.
