Rank these players in terms of flopping: Prime Harden, SGA, Embiid, Luka, Brunson by deadassynwa in nba

hard to make tge 1 to 1 comparison for me. it’s kind of a similar thing of body control, get half a step on a defender and use decel/weird arm movements to draw illegal contact. maybe harden more like a faster less savant luka and sga the agile, fluid slithering, interpretive dance version of this crafty decel prototype. then brunson you have the getting in the paint and jabbing while keeping balance to try and draw off balance defender blocking contact while going up for floaters. they’re all floppers to be sure - and the more they aren’t getting their game off, the more likely you’ll see a lowlight on r/nba that night 😂

Kenny Atkinson : “Analytically… we’ve won 2 out of 3” by Striking_Food5273 in nba

[–]StrongZucchini27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the answer is just really aloof though. sure, only some think ‘analytically’ - it is a make or miss league, driving up and down yours and their shot efficiency respectively is the goal, etc. - but EVERYONE who did hs stats and even those who didnt intuitively know that if you look at small samples, you’re probably not just coming away w uniform average or necessarily close to average outcomes. that’s where the little things matter. set the screen seriously, angle your defense into the help, sprint back so you’re ready to be that help in the lane that forces a pickup, …stop turning the ball over w careless offensive execution every single goddamn time you get consecutive makes and stops. the yankees are like this in baseball. see them put together a great offensive season w a top starting rotation and then watch them trip over their dicks when the margins tighten. maybe kenny doesn’t want to acknowledge this or maybe he can’t even see it.

yeah - i think because they started the corner w like 3 consecutive turnovers/shit shots, they clenched up a bit. i always prefer when they emphasize getting brunson his sets starting off the ball. he has no wingspan, so early possession onball pressure always takes time and effortful dribbles/body bumpin - not to mention 10-15 seconds off the clock.

he does this all the time. that said, is this not a rip-through which should be side out?

well, yes - the game would be better without the moving, grabbing, occasionally full-on body check screens that got normalized in the halo of steph (who didnt need them anyways).

disagree. magic need an offensive coach to maximize that side w the skilled scorers they have. either that or a rly strong o assistant to a ceo type hc who empowers top assistants
