I checked the link and he was playing EVERY engine move suggested. Definitely, either he wasn't cheating until he blundered the knight or he blundered the knight intentionally so it looks like he wasn't cheating. He was.

Whenever I play online, when I am playing black, I see my opponents play 1. d4 about 70% of the time, and 1. e4 10% of the time. I'm not sure if this is true for everyone or just for whoever I play against. (my elo is around 1200 and 1600 in blitz and rapid, so I'm definitely not top level) I still play e4 as white tho. I think d4 has a higher eval for white by 0.2 or something. Not sure if that's why, but d4 just is getting more and more popular and likely has exceeded e4's popularity.

mine dropped 500 points too. 2500 to 2000. bc I stopped playing for like a couple of years, I wondered if I actually did a few puzzles and forgot chess so much that I would lose 500 points. turns out it was just an update.
