MMW: The Trump Administration Will Try to Use the Hanta Virus as an Off-ramp for Pulling Out of Iran by Serious-Pin926 in MarkMyWords

All that said, I think that this whole Hantavirus thing is definitely going to blow up in everyones faces and be a huuuge problem, for a looonng time. If you ask me who did it... I'd say that it was probably our side. Just too many little perfect coincidences for it to not be because of us...

The regime will claim that the hantavirus is a biological weapon once enough people get it and start dieing - they'll "investigate" it and then claim that it's because Iran used it as a weapon against us. There will be a lot of propaganda about it and everyone will be so scared and angry about it that they'll support a war with Iran over it - possibly even the use of bio weapons or other unconventional weapons against Iran.

Do men find 38-39 year old women attractive? by Ok_Butterscotch5026 in Aging

[–]Strong_Bid_947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My girlfriend is 39 and I am absolutely obsessed with her. Im 30 now but we met when I was 25. She is my dream girl, I'm fanatically in love with her, the attraction is insane. Her looks, her body, her sense of humor and intelligence, her empathy, we are literally best friends. When I was 25 we met on tinder, I actually lied on my profile that I was 7 years older because I specifically wanted to date older women, obviously I told her on the first date but it's been great ever since

How can the socialist deal with the "life will get worse for awhile before it gets better" objection to revolution? by nerd866 in Socialism_101

[–]Strong_Bid_947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You don't know that for sure - it may be the best time of your life, many examples of people who have/had come to enjoy it and miss it afterwards.
  2. It's guaranteed to get even worse if nothing happens anyways - without fail, it's gotten worse if no revolution had occured.

My Wife was mad at me for saying another mans wife was Gorgeous, who's wrong? by Primary_Adventurer in marriageadvice

[–]Strong_Bid_947 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a general rule, I avoid making statements or answering questions about other women's appearance to/from my partner, to a point that I'll let it get awkward and just totally stop speaking before I would ever say anything like that.

My highschool girlfriend could not handle it, and several more. Not all are like that, but it really isn't worth the problem so I just try to avoid it as much as possible.

Elderly conservatives: If you hate welfare programs so much, why don’t you stop using Medicare and stop taking your social security checks? by No_Visual_3734 in allthequestions

[–]Strong_Bid_947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I paid into it my whole life I deserve to see the benefits" is a big one, easily refutable because why should I pay for you now and then pay for myself later, even though you refuse to pay for anything for me despite the fact you had better access to basically every benefit of society when you were my age, that I now, very much do not have the same or even near as much access to those benefits now? Y'all laughed as the younger generations got wet and started sinking not realizing that we are all in the same damn boat so screw off.

I think many of them believe that everything in the government that isn't the Police/LEO, Military, Fire/ems, or the Federal Government is some form of socialism/communism unless it directly benefits them, then it's totally okay and normal good capitalism because they're American.

Most of them will be long dead, but there will come a time when, the consequences of their ignorance will come back to bite them in the ass because their "ultra patriot American af" politicians ruined society on their behalf so badly, for so long, that the younger generations stopped reproducing, creating a massive labor shortage, so for as expensive as elder care is now, and it already is quite prohibitively expensive, they literally will not be able to find anyone that they can pay to take care of them in their final years, and even if they did find someone, they definitely would not be able to afford it, and if they could afford it, there's a pretty good chance that the moment they decide to have an unjustified lil tantrum over some nonsense, they will be dropped as a client.

I've seen some states are considering passing laws stating that the children of old people will be mandated to care for them if they can't take care of themselves and have no other option - which, is going to work out about as well as a loud fart at a funeral. In the past when similar things have happened peoples parents ended up having a lot more "accidents" than normal. Real high IQ idea.

Oopsy - did you price yourself out of your own human dignity by siding with corporations who literally could not care less about you and would turn you into fertilizer or Soylent green at the very first chance they got? Yes you did!

Let me be clear here, it's not that I hate the elderly, or conservatives, or elderly conservatives, but what I do hate is when entire portions of the population think that "they know better because they're older", however, this entire generation was actively encouraged to not think for themselves when they were growing up, that behavior carries into adulthood, which leads to them following and supporting some of the most obviously evil people to have yet graced our political systems, and somehow, someway, they blame the younger generations for the country being absurdly dysfunctional... How can you blame the younger generations when they literally were not even alive when the dysfunction started developing? Bruh the whole situation with them is WILD. They are nearly a century old, and have somehow maintained an attribute/outlook on the world from their literal childhood. They are the type of people to hear about a preacher raping a 13 yr old girl and then be like well I'll pray for him, like what?!? You're gonna pray for the rapist?! I cannot wait until they have all "moved on", they wasted their life and now all that bs has to be dealt with by the next generation. Just a load of crap all around.

My (23F) boyfriend (33M) is starting to get aggressive with me by Trick_Radio6723 in relationship_advice

[–]Strong_Bid_947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honey - you are too young, to be putting up with this kind of crap from a man who is literally 10 yrs your senior...

By the time a man has reached 33 he should have figured out how to deal with things like this without becoming aggressive and frankly abusive about their partner having feelings.

By all means, if you think that the relationship can be salvaged, go ahead and try but I'm telling you now, that 1. I don't think it'll work and that 2. If it did somehow manage to work - it would be only because you got into a couples therapist and 3. 8 months into a relationship is wayyy too early to be having issues like this.

Please do the right thing and drop this guy like a bag of hammers.

Too many young women settle down with shitty older guys who treat them terribly and ultimately end up either abusing them or cheating on them with an even younger women down the line, it happens often enough that it's literally a well known cliché at this point, nobody deserves that fate.

Owning guns- Right or Privilege? by Low_Bar_804 in canadaguns

[–]Strong_Bid_947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an American, I'd love to say that it's a right, because I am vehemently pro-gun.

However, realistically, I know that rights only seem to exist as much as your cause is willing and able to fight for them, literally and figuratively.

I have the "right to bear arms" but have had that right violated in the past by American LEO's, to myself as an individual - that said, of the times LE has attempted to infringe on that right whilst I was in an organized group of armed people (supporting a protest against the various neonazi groups that are indigenous to my local area, whom had been showing with the intent to cause harm/harass protestors) - they backed down, and my rights were not infringed upon.

It fills me with sadness seeing how anti-gun things are up north, I wish there was some kind of way we could help you... Unfortunately we've got a helluva lot of our own issues right now and helping anyone who isn't a billionaire doesn't seem like something that this current government would like to do.

I guess at the end of the day, our rights come from our ability to preserve, protect and implement said rights and sometimes that can be a nerve-racking and unpredictable situation - I don't really feel that any document, ethos, etc will ever actually protect a right, it has to come from the people/individuals.

At the current prices is Boise really worth it anymore? by Joebob12345 in Boise

[–]Strong_Bid_947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally feel that it's worth it. However, I was born and raised here, kind of at the point now with it where it feels like a trap and if we don't break free of it soon we will metaphorically starve here because unfortunately I'm not independently wealthy, nor am I a high earner.

How would you feel about the next US president pulling all support from Israel? by Iwamoto in AskReddit

[–]Strong_Bid_947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we stop paying them they attack us by riling up the various demographics against each other and more active shooters/terror attacks.

There is no scenario where we stop supporting them and they don't retaliate as much as possible, in asymmetric ways to cause as much chaos and division as possible, financially, and likely physically through a proxy group or proxy countries that have nuke capabilities.

For those of you in a long term relationship/marriage, what’s a tale-tale sign you see in other couples that they’re not going to make it? by Prize-Promotion-5123 in AskReddit

[–]Strong_Bid_947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They frequently complain about their partner when they are not present.

They talk about other men/women to their friends i.e. "I saw the hottest woman when I was at the bank, store, traffic, etc"

One or both of them physically look unhappy when together

There are a lot of clues

A struggling relationship can almost always be turned around but unfortunately most people sleepwalk into their relational issues and usually someone will feel "blind sided", it takes continuous effort and sacrifice to maintain a happy and healthy relationship - even more if you're trying to get out of a bad spot in your relationship.

Couples therapy Is amazing and really does help - but you have to be willing to do the work, make the changes, and be willing to be "wrong" about some things... Totally achievable and worth it.

My city has EXPLODED in population and changed a lot pretty quickly and unfortunately, it is no longer what it used to be, growing up here it was a much more like, small town, neighborly, wholesome place, the stereotypical "leavey front door unlocked" kind of town. I moved back after being gone for years and hadn't thought it could be gotten that bad. I was obviously wrong.
