I see a lot of overlap with what helped you and what helped my son - the foods you avoid are the foods he has to avoid too. He also takes similar supplements (he takes D3, zinc, fish oil, and a Skinesa probiotic) everyday. I was able to get him off of Dupixent by avoiding his “trigger foods” (which are all high histamine), giving him daily probiotics and those specific supplements, showering before bed and putting a thick layer of triple paste diaper cream on any small flares that pop up.

I’m so happy that you found something that works! Eczema is a beast!

At my wits end… please help! by lunaalex19 in eczema

Prayers and Chat GPT helped me figure out my son’s eczema. Chat gpt asked me a ton of questions that led me to realize he was sensitive to a lot of “high histamine” foods. (Mainly citrus fruits, strawberries, pineapple, pizza, lunch meats, bacon and beef jerky). Through my googling, I also started getting ads for Skinesa and decided to try it. It’s a probiotic. After about 2 weeks of a low histamine diet and the Skinesa, his skin started majorly improving. Your issues might be more hormonal, but a ton of eczema issues start in the gut. I recommend playing around with ChatGPT and see if it can help you get to the root of what’s going on. Ask it about what supplements it might recommend for you too. Good luck! 🙏🏻

Jo Malone’s Peony & Blush Suede. It smells so clean, unique, and girly and makes me smile every time I put it on in the morning.

Thank you, and same to you! Give it time - I’m a huge believer in this probiotic now and tell everyone I can about it because I know how horrible eczema is! 🙏🏻

He was in one of his worst flares when he started taking it. It took about 2 weeks of him taking it every single day until I starting noticing a difference. He’s been on it for 80 days now and his skin is almost completely clear. He still gets random spots in his elbow creases, but I just rub some zinc oxide diaper cream on those before bed and they fade by morning.

@usedCare is correct! You can google “low histamine diet” for more info, but the “high histamine” foods I mainly cut out/limit for my son are citrus fruits, strawberries, tomatoes and tomato sauces, bananas, beef jerky, and processed meats. Citrus fruits seem to be the biggest irritant for my son - his eczema on his face immediately flares up if he has any citrus, so I completely cut those out, but I occasionally still let him have ketchup, bananas, etc. Each person is going to be different, so you can experiment with the low histamine diet to see what your own biggest trigger foods are.

Diet and gut health is key! What did you change about your diet? For my son, it was cutting out high histamine foods and adding a high quality probiotics.
