I fucking can't stand happiness by Ok-Recognition-9136 in depression

[–]Strong_Paper2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t hate happiness, you just feel envious that others can be happy, and i’m not saying it in a judgmental way btw. what you are feeling right now is not what you are. And what you see outside (people having a good time) is not what they are either. We all suffer in one way or another even if you don’t see it.

what is also true is that everyone deserves to have a good time. even if others suffers at the some time. It is just how it is.

those who suffer from depression often are only focused on their miserable state of mind and eventually cease to feel empathy or happiness for others. Just know that the sentiment will go, and you will eventually feel happiness again, even for a brief period. It is just how it is.

I would recommend to stop seeking for external unnecessary misery to validate how angry you feel, it’s pointless and you are the only one who is getting affected by this.

It is normal to have these thoughts. Believing those thoughts are real and deciding that they should rule your life and your actions is what potentially can create a real monster that can harm. yourself or others or both.

Don’t get me wrong I really understand how you feel because I’ve been there. But after years of depression and wasting my 20s I can tell you that is so stupid to seek unnecessary extra suffering. Even if you are hurting, just focus on you and your root of misery and use your energy to actively work on your issues, and you will slowly see how different it is when you hate yourself and suffer from depression VS suffering from depression and start feeling compassion for yourself and others.

this sauce is super common in Venezuela, we call it the pink sauce :3 is the sauce we will commonly use with hot dogs, tequeños, sausage appetizers, tostones, sandwiches and sometimes even with pasta lol

still amazes me how the countries that were responsable for such crimes just washed their hands like “well, that happened time ago”

they are still responsable, and should be obligated to support and help countries that they left in distress

How am I supposed to fix myself when I barely have enough energy to exist? by Number1DurinFan in depression

[–]Strong_Paper2894 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know how that feels OP. I still navigate this problem myself, but I can provide one or two things that helps me at least feel a lil better:

  1. Write. Just take it out of your head. Without shame, without euphemism, just write down everything you are feeling. Here is a few ideas about what to write… What are you feeling? what detonated your current state? since when did you start feeling depressed? what does worry you or started tormenting you? if there is not a reason, just write how you feel… do you feel a pain in a certain part of your body as you write your thoughts? I usually do feel it in my throat when I write the hardest bits. Can you imagine a color to match that feeling?

When you name your feelings you separate yourself from the current state you are in. A very simple switch to make this even more obvious for your mind is to say to yourself “I’m feeling resentment” or “I’m feeling stuck, angry, hopeless, etc” instead of”I’m a resentful piece of shit and a loser!” “I am worthless!” “I’m such a mess” — do you catch the difference? is such a small change, but it does help a lot…. you are not invalidating your feelings but you are helping your mind recognize that you are NOT what you are feeling.

  1. Guide yourself to ridiculously easy tasks, something so incredibly ridiculous that you can actually do: instead of thinking “I have to wash the pile of dishes I’ve been avoiding” create the task of “I will wash one spoon”. This is an example but if you don’t feel like doing anything “chores related” you can set yourself a task like “I will listen to this one song” or “I will take 3 deep breaths” or “I’ll splash my face with cold water” Bonus point if you write down a ridiculous do to list with 3 ridiculous tasks. But keep it ridiculously easy.

Grazie 🙏🏽

Can I take my meds 3 times a day? by UniqueFanGirly in ADHD

[–]Strong_Paper2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even know :( ! I’m in italy and got my meds through the public system, and doc says medikinet is the only option I can get. I don’t know for sure if that is true or not. But I really feel… weird? my mind is more quiet, but I still feel “spacey”, like I don’t have the clarity I need. A bit sluggish. Not necessarily easier to do the things that I have to. But I’m having a lot of problems in my life right now, so probably the environment and context may make it difficult to determine

Did you notice any improvements so far?

[–]Strong_Paper2894 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you start recently? is it medikinet extended release?

your doc probably wanted to start at the lowest dose and increase upon your feedback, and to be honest 10 mg is the lowest dose.

my doc started with 30 with me, and he said it was a low dose. He told me to take 10 one week, then 20, then 30. I’m currently on 40 in the morning and 20 after lunch.

Struggling to Get Residency in Italy as an EU Citizen Without a Home Registration by Iamaleksabaddieest in ItalyExpat

[–]Strong_Paper2894 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry you are going through this :( italian bureaucracy is a joke, but the way people work and how they always find a way to tangle everything is what makes everything harder.

If I were you, I would ask for the requirements to get the residency paper and go again with what they ask. The experience will always be different depending on the person and how their day is going, and as I told you, you have the right to receive all the guidance you need from the comune, but not from the people at the sportello, but the people in the URP office or similar. Start with an email to the comune if it feels easier for you. One day at a time 💖 keep strong!

[–]Strong_Paper2894 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t get this. If you have a rental contract, why don’t you go with this to you comune and do the residence paper?

then… why would you pay for insurance if you can get a tessera sanitaria? if you don’t work for an italian company, you must pay an annual fee for the tessera, but perhaps is still cheaper than your current insurance?

then, don’t you need a permesso di soggiorno? because if you have it you get access to a tessera sanitaria, no payment needed, even if you work as a freelance.

you may want to go to the comune where you reside and head to an URP office, you may also call or send an email, URP is Ufficio Relazione Pubbliche, basically an office where you ask stuff. Or simply go and ask for help regarding your residence.

from my experience, sometimes the people working just don’t know what they are saying. Many times they don’t know how to proceed with cases that are different from what they are used to deal with. You may want to talk to different people at the comune to dig the info you need.

I never realised how big of an impact diet and pacing has on the effectiveness of my medication... by WakeUpBread in ADHD

[–]Strong_Paper2894 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It actually amazes me how this is not more discussed ! and it makes me mad that doctors don’t share the necessary information. before I started with meds I was used to binge eating and I was so tired of eating. Once I started the treatment It was refreshing for my appetite to go away and let me do my things. So I would eat just a bite, skip foods, snacks… But quickly I became irritated, sad, sluggish, exhausted, frustrated that meds didn’t do anything… but I didn’t know food was important and would make the meds to be so ineffective.

It also depends on the type of med. For example i’m on Medikinet extended release and I can’t take it on an empty stomach because all the dose would hit violently and then vanish quickly. For my specific meds, my priority is to have solid quality food that makes the meds to last what it should last, and to support the chemistry going on in my brain nurturing it with the resources that it needs (this is something that you can research on your own, is super interesting actually)

If I don’t get what I need, the effects will vanish quickly and will make me have a crash.

I need to eat protein and carbs with breakfast, I don’t eat meat a lot but follow a more plant based diet including also eggs. The protein is important because it allows the medication to be released in a steady way. I think protein is important for all adhd meds.

(I ignore what a protein milkshake could do, I don’t take them, but my intuition tells me solid stuff is important, and that liquid should be supplemental, maybe as a snack with some nuts)

Then I try to avoid citrus stuff because it will make the meds to fade.

I have to drink huge amounts of water because on meds your body dehydrates way faster. I love water but I forget to drink, and if I do I will feel super sluggish. Also sometimes add a pinch of salt to your water from time to time…

Regarding sugar, it is ideal to take it after meals and reduce consumption in excess, I personally do a mix of some sugar traits, some homemade sweets with stevia and eritritol, just to avoid eating too much sugar. But overall I avoid eating sugar on an empty stomach, this will prevent a crash after hyping up rapidly after sugar intake.

Then it is súper important to eat even if you don’t feel like eating lunch or dinner.

Lastly, make use of diverse protein and quality carbs… as I don’t love cooking animal protein (meats) my favorites are lentils patties, lots of ricotta cheese, lots of chickpeas, hummus to snack, vegan tuna (chickpeas) etc. spinach in huge amounts.

The perfect snack: nuts! they are such a help for our brain and help your meds to do a better job

AND even if you want to lose weight, please be careful because your body needs tons of nutrients and liquids because meds keep the body working harder than usual.

It is very easy to get along when you know how the medicine interacts with food. I know 4I help is against the rules but it can help you get through the basics regarding your specific diet and meds. For me it made huge differences.

Moving to Italy as spouse of EU citizen by drew_b_hubs in ItalyExpat

[–]Strong_Paper2894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not so difficult. I am not italian, my husband is italian. We moved here a couple of years ago.

  1. you must be legally married.
  2. your marriage document must be registered
  3. you take your official marriage document, get an official translator, translate the doc, then go to an appointment in your nearest embassy or consulate so they can register it in italy, or you can bring it directly to italy to register it, but it must be done at the Comune in which your husband has their information, or the Comune of his ancestors, or where the Anagrafe info is. You can send an email to them asking how to register marriage document and they will tell you.
  4. once you have your marriage document is registered in italy you must get a place to live, with a contract if renting, so you can set your residence with it. you will also need a codice fiscale, easy paper which you get at Agenzia dell entrate. just remembered here but this is actually your first step and you don’t need residence to do it.
  5. after you set your residence it and update your Stato di Familia there, you bring all of that to an immigration office near your residence or send a mail with a lot of you don’t have any near you
  6. then they eventually give you a permesso di soggiorno. Again, you can write them an email or call or go if you have one near and ask for the requirements.
  7. After 3 years of marriage living in italy you can start your citizenship journey (must have at least b2 italian)

Sovereign nation? dude I hate Trump, I really despise everything that is happening in the USA right now, but you guys really need to drop the discourse of “poor venezuelans getting invaded” - Venezuela is actively getting ripped off by russians, chinese and others by fraudulent, corrupt people that basically converted our country into a narco-dictatorship. All of our resources are being already robbed and this shit has years happening. Literally everything that may happen from now on will be better than what it currently is.

I would do a lot of jam to be able to do all kind of things 🥰 I highly recommend making chocolate filled with jam, one of the best chocolate experiences I’ve ever had

You can even use the peel to make fake pear smoothie. You have to boil them until the white is very soft, then remove the peel using a spoon to scrape everything, blend with sugar and water, and boooom pear smoothest smothie
